existentialism

I hope to undertake a study of the philosophies of existence (Sartre and Maurice Merleau-Ponty and also, to a certain extent, Emmanuel Levinas and the young Paul Ricoeur), which proposed a synthetic representation of the human subject as a force of perception, self-awareness and influence on the world.

As the result of a certain reading of German phenomenology (Edmund Husserl, Martin Heidegger), these philosophies of « finitude » also levelled their questioning at literature and politics.
  • Who do we think we are?
What do we see as we look at ourselves? How do we influence the world about us, or what is at our reach by whatever means, physical, electronic, word of mouth?
