Virginity can be referred to as a reference to purity or a Reference to Physical State. Which one do you think it is? I am torn between both...

About Purity, No?Being a religious person I have just recently began thinking "Am I still Technically a Virgin?"Voted for by T-51.
I have always thought to Virginity as a reference to having intercourse as that was the basic teachings in school.
However religiously speaking it would refer to one purity.
Now I for one have received Oral sex, so as I still a virgin?
Physicly I say yes as I have never had intercourse, If I am purity wise then it is only partial.
In society I am a Virgin, if I follow my beliefs I am not. So what am I?
A Lady friend of mine that I know well, claims to be saving it for marriage. Yet she has preformed oral sex on her boyfriends. Her and I have the same beliefs. So in society she is a Virgin, however in our beliefs she is not, So is she a Virgin?
Better yet are her and I both Virgins or not?
Perhaps we also need to clarify what Sex really is, is it any sexual Contact such as Oral sex would be, Or is it actual intercourse?
I think of any sexual conduct as Sex.
I also think that in God's eyes I am not a Virgin.
However in society I am, so do I have the right to call myself a Virgin? I sure hope I do in society terms, but with God I do not. The same goes for my lady friend. -
I have wondered about thisPersonally I think the whole mysticism about being a virgin or losing it is a lot of crap, but I have wondered about what the definition is? Because I have had the occasional sexual experience as a young child but only through curiosity rather than any real arousal... So did I lose my Virginity the first time I had 'proper sex', or was it when i was 6? (I would probably think the first 'proper' time...)Voted for by petethemeat.

Nobody is a virgin...Definition from dictionary.comVoted for by dollar.
Virginity - the state or condition of being pure, fresh, or unused.
Something is virgin as long as it hasnt been touched by an outside source.
Well i'd say we have all had some sort of physical contact with something or someone other than ourselves so technically nobody is a virgin.

Levels
I don't think you should worry about what society thinks or what you are in society's terms. Society is crap..and just crap opinions. I think you have levels of purity. If orally you have lost your virginity...but you have not had intercourse, you are in some way a virgin. If there are different levels of sex, why can't there be different levels to your purity and experience. Since I've done neither, I don't really have much to say aout this subject. I don't really know what to say about this subject. But, go with your views and when you see God maybe you can ask Him. I don't think it is all that big of a deal, to be freaking out about whether you are a virgin or not. I'm not saying you are freaking out about it. Just in general.Sex is thought of as dirty, so are you clean? Or have you actually given yourself over in love? Again, with the levels.
