I see it every day, I turn on the news and i see the war painted as a good thing children smiling and the such.On the news we see guys shooting at "insergents" but we don't see ware those rounds are going, we don't see a kid of 17 fighting to get the occuping army out of his nation get his bacl blown off by a m16 rifle fired by a kid of 18. we see humvee's get blown up but we don't see the bodys torn in two or three pieces.we see bombs be dropped but don't see a wedding get hit or a school. The media shows the "bad" guys kill people with car bombs but they don't show what we do every day.People say the war is good it's for the iraqy people but tell that to the mother with no kid of the girl with no legs.Say that to the deads troops the ones still alive with no legs or arms. The media is controled by the goverment in one way or another it depends on the company,as Americans we should see through the lies but we don't. Never in any other way has American gone on like nothing is happing. Why?

Ah -- the glorious media.
That's why American's don't see or actually care to any great extent beyond the "support the troops." Of course people support the troops.
And -- the war is not for the Iraqi people -- that is merely a cover to distract and allow our government to do what they desire there "because its to better the lives of the Iraqis."
Yeah -- been deployed there for 23 months total in 3 years. The war is bull, and not needed. Yes, we should leave now, and yes it'll be chaotic for the first few months/years. We've destroyed that country without conquering it. But -- at the end, their own form of government will come into place.

The War is a massive criminal act
I was one of the few people in my "conservative" town of Fairbanks, Alaska to protest the war from the start, and I was saddened and shocked by the apathy of my fellow Alaskans, and Americans in general. Did we ever capture Osama Bin Laden? Why didn't we concentrate on that mess? The fact that our president and vice president have profited from the deaths of thousands and the misery of millions saddens and angers me to no end. When I was a child, the Vietnam War was raging, and I thought that once we extracted ourselves out of that cluster-**** that we would have learned a lesson. But apparently, the military industrial complex, which even Eisenhower warned us about, has a tight grip on our government, especially the executive branch. Get out now, and start the healing process. America has lost its lustre as the shining city on the hill, and we have a lot of work to do just to begin to undo the damage that can never be undone. We must humble ourselves as a nation and join the world community in a helpful way, as we should have all along. Stop the insanity!

Seems to me
Scarily, that Australian society is being unconsciously motivated towards raising youth to think pessimistically of Americans, their form of nationalism and basically their identity, while retaining everything else American ourselves. We are America, we just don't boast about ruling the world because we don't; America does. When it comes to this form of hypocrisy, Australians are gronks. Because as it is, while many regard the war as wrong, looking at it at a political angle, we invaded Iraq too; we were simply the fool following the fool, the bigger fool, and yet while we are allowed to target individual Americans in our everyday banter and gossip, you can't blame us in the same light - it was all the government's fault.
Bickering, sniveling Aussies who are the epitome of all that they claim to despise, yet couldn't live without.

I was one of the few people in my "conservative" town of Fairbanks, Alaska to protest the war from the start. I was shocked by the apathy of my fellow Alaskans, and Americans in general. By the way, did we ever capture Osama? Wasn't HE responsible (and his organization) for 9-11? And to know that our president and especially our vice president have blatantly profited from the hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions of displaced and wounded PEOPLE is sickening. And all this "supporting the troops" mantra is a crock, as putting them in harm's way for a war based on lies is the farthest thing from supporting anyone. When I was a child, the Vietnam War was raging, and I had always hoped that we had learned something from such a tragic course of action. But apparently the military industrial complex (that even Eisenhower once warned us about) has the government, especially the executive branch, in their tight-fisted grip.Energizer Bunny

despite your and many other americans views about the war,its true that the majority of the country has proved itself to be this way-ignorant(or at least for a very long time-still what 35%?)

Despite your and many other non-american views about the war, it's true that the majority of the counyry has proved itself to care more than just supporting our troops. Your narrow minded view just demonstrates how many do not comprehend what they think they do. Apparently the media also affects the ignorance of non-americans as well. I see we all share a common thread.

Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
(A woman in prophecy is a church. This church sits on seven mountains, or hills. It can only be the Vatican in Rome)
Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
(When this was first understood it was WWII. This is indentifying that up to that time there had been 5 resurrections of the Holy Roman Empire. Moussolini / Hitler was the 6th. The other that is not yet is the European Union, but it is building fast)
Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
(This verse I don't remember exactly, but I will check my research and get back to you)
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
(They are not yet unified, but one hour with the pope will solidify them. It will probably come about because of pressure from the middle east. Daniel says that "The King of the South", Iran and radical Islam, will push at "The King of the North", The EU, and the EU will overrun them like a whirlwind (Blitzkreig?).
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
