There was infinite nothing. Which is something. Then came something, was that God? If not, what was before God, and how did God come into being?

Simply: God had no beginning and He has no end. He has always been there and He always will.

just a thoughtVoted for by green-eternity.
to have time you have to have matter. with out matter you cant have time. so if God is not made of matter he would there for not be affected by time in any way. so there for would have no begining or end, no start no finish.

God is not only the largest but the smallest simultaneously right now. Within and without you. What was the first thing right after God?

My theoryVoted for by Picar.
Part of me thinks we are god. that he is in our subconcious and we have created him for the sole purpose of order in our lives, something to hold onto and to blame for all of our problems…
yes I do believe in god btw…

Science and Religion go hand and hand.Voted for by Darkness.
God is as old a concept as Man is a living, breathing being. is there anything in this universe not made of something of this universe? if not why even ask what is the origin of God. God is as are we. As long as we are there will be a God. we are his/hers/their creations just like we are his. Just as God creates, destroys and rebuild anew, so do we. So if your looking for God you shouldn’t have to go no farther then the nearest mirror or right outside your front door. Enjoy seeing him; don’t woory about where he came from, you might find out that your as much a thing of wonder to him as he is to us/ or maybe even that the last ufo sighting may have been sum uf yo kin folk…...!!!!!!!!!. Just be good, be careful and dont hurt nobody and you’ll see as much of God as you need to.

I don’t have an answer, I can’t get passed something from nothing.

Your assumptions make it difficult to answer your question. I'll agree with Energizer though that God has no beginning or end. If He did, you would have reduced the infinite to finite which is just not cool.

Something is GodVoted for by Odyseus.
Everything was created by something, anything you can possibly think of, right down to the creation of the universe, the creation of the big bang, the creation of the two infinatly small, infinatly dence particles, there is however one thing that did not need a creator, a constant being or force. This thing is called God, wether it is active or passive, solid or gaseous, thinking or not. This is God.

NO ORIGINVoted for by multiverse.
do not get stuck in a space-time line. there need be no origin of that which has no beginning, middle or end. these are limitations of human thought. god exists to experience, thus we all exist. "Reality is but an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." ......................Albert Einstein
