Saving people with religion

So I was online looking around at different stuff and I stumbled upon this site:
http://www.carm.org

And I found this:
http://www.carm.org/wicca/read.htm

Now don't think I'm just picking on christianity because I know people do this for more then just christianity but this was just the easiest example for me to use.

Why do people have to "save" others with religion? I don't get it, for most of them isn't the whole point you accepted them and brought the god into your life and all that, why do people "need to be saved?"

Now don't think I'm bashing, or against spreading religon, I'm just asking a question I wanna know peoples opinions.

Also what do you think about quoting the bible to prove somethings real?
If one doesn't believe in the bible what makes people think that quoting it will prove their point?
I've watched a lot of people doing that lately, and I'm just curious about that.

Please no one be offended, I just want to know what people think.
And I would like to say about carm, I'm glad that someone educated themselves about something before deciding they were against it, and weren't trying to piss people off, they were trying to sound intelligent and make what seems like viable points in their arguments. Not alot of people can do that.
  • Speaking for Christianity
Even many so-called professing Christians do not follow the doctrines of the Bible. I could site different doctrines that are not followed by "main stream" Christians, such as; The proper sabbath day (Saturday), the proper holy days (Passover, days of unleavened bread, feast of tabernacles, etc), not worshipping graven images (2nd commandment). Obviously I do not represent them, but I do consider myself a Christian nonetheless. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christians are to "convert" others or "call them to be saved". The Bible does tell God's church to preach the final warning after the gospel has been brought to the world (which has been done). Actually, the Bible says that it is God, and only God who can call one to Jesus.
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. So you see, true Christians are not to proselytize or recruit others to Christianity, only God can do it. I only quote the Bible to show what it actually says. It is its own authority.
Quick note: I went to the "CARM" site you listed and not surprisingly, I can Biblically refute much of what they say about who is or is not a true Christian and also many of the doctrines that they profess to be Christian. There is only one true church (Biblically supported) and only one group that can Bibically be called Christian.
