The benefits to staying home is it's much cheaper with room, board, cable, computer access, and you already have friends around you. The benefits to going away are forcing you to make lots of new friends, experience new types of freedoms, and a nice kick in the ass for "growing up" a little. They're both good choices. Some people may do better in one than another, but in the end it's not THAT wildly different. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

what's with the caps?
im'm agreeing with weydon on thi one. there are pro's and con's to both and, in the end, both have their appeals. i, for one, went away to college (oh, and i suggest going to college, or once you get out of the system for too long, it is too hard to get back in, best grin and bare it), er, more like university, i dont know the US system. i love living off my own money (dont ask why, but it does have its thrill) and i love living away from home.course, when you get down to it, now that you are paying to go to school, do you really think you will want to do well?
