in case you are unaware of what this means
multiculturalism is basically where the culture of a country is effectively a collage of the many nationalities within
the american version is referred to as the melting pot
this has been a large debate in my nation and city for the last twenty years and has never necessarily been resolved
for example in BC a new political party has just been created it's stated goal is to exclusively cater to the Chinese Canadian population saying and i quote
"we are trying to expand chinese family values
and help the chinese immigrant"
beneficial?

this is the opposite of multiculturalism it is directed towards one group
to create a more stable world specification like this needs to be rendered void
what most people fear when discussing multiculturalism
is the loss of their generally stereotypical culture
in canada this would mean hockey,beer, etc.
these things may be casualties of a more open culture
but such things will not die and will always be
basically what is hoped multiculturalism will lead to is
a society where there is no white, asian, indian etc.
there is simply Canadian(or your equivalent)
in my opinion this is only possible with the open evolution of society and its culture
which is brought by multiculturalism
is a culture of equality and indifference a bad thing?

If they have a hard time and aren't being adequately helped, I don't see it as harmful to helping them get their feet on the ground and into accepting neighborhoods. This helps expand multicultralism, as if they were not given help they could be excluded and living in crappy neighborhoods or homeless.

I've heard this idea before, but I think it would be a VERY, VERY long time before all races are merged and indistinguishable.
Other races and ethnicities living among each other and slowly borrowing ideas and whatnot from each other is both important and unavoidable.
