  sorry, I'm new in this website. I typed up a pretty long thing explaining why toes are good proof of evolution, but apparantley it wasn't entered somehow.

Well compare the human foot to a chimp foot. A chimp foot has 5 digits, and one of those is only a 2-segment toe that is opposable and very agile. The human foot has one big toe with only 2 segments, and it's also the most agile toe. Coincidence? I don't think so. The human foot is also not a good choice for a bipedal mammal. The toes are small and somewhat easy to break. They have lots of surface area, and so they lose heat more easily. You can get fungus inbetween the toes. This is why the human foot and toes are good proof of evolution.

Wait, that doesn't make much sense, if these feet were so bad, wouldn't, according to natural selection, our feet have become better by now?

If toes were larger wouldnt it limit our nimble feet? turning quickly with large toes would be a little clumsy.

Well evolution isn't perfect. Evolution tends to fix the big problems first, instead of fixing them all at once, which explains why we have great brains, but outdated feet. Webbed toes could be the first step to a sturdy foot with a simple mono-toe or a foot that is longer, but without toes. But, there is little advantage to having webbed toes, compared to a brain mutation that makes you a little smarter. So you can see why foot evolution would take a longer time. I believe that ever since civilization was created and spread throughout the world, macro-evolution has stopped. People who would do great in a small tribe in the wilderness, might not do so great in a city.

They do, Tech. Pygmy tribes where the tallest person will only be about 4 and a half feet. Southeast Asian "Sea Gypsy" tribes that have far superior underwater vision, similar to how frogs who lead the dual life have equal air and water vision.

Update: I randomly came across an article about those Sea Gypsies, and it's apparently possible/likely that their eyes gained that advantage AFTER being born. They're possibly SUPER used to being under water. There was a study with European kids tested with eyesight under water and it got better after months of practice--though still not as good as the Sea Gypsies.
