Is It Correct to Trust Emotion or Reason?

Everybody approaches confrontation differently. Some try to detatch themselves emotionally and aim to apply only raciotination. The benefits are that the user may evade any sort of rash action. Those who embrace emotion may not have the clear mind to consider all choices, but when something powerful like pride is involved, one can concentrate his confidence and his persistence to prove a point and to be understood.

I recall a personal situation in which my pride was attacked. At first I tried to approach this situation rationally and explain to the attacker what it was i requested of him. There was no changing his mind. I became angry and proud and some of my friends backed me up. I resolved the issue with the attacker and found out who my true friends are. Please, share you're thoughts.
