First please know, I take this subject very seriously and I truly want peoples feedback on this.
The older I get the more I am faced with people that “claim” to be “intellectual”, “intelligent” or “witty” and yet their behavior proves them to be otherwise. Why do they do this? Why do they seriously believe others to be beneath them? and Why do they only know how to associate with people they deem worthy of their own intellectual ability. (their opinion through their eyes keep in mind).

I think it’s sad they (who claim to be so intelligent) can’t communicate with all levels of people. And their behavior proves them to be otherwise, yet they’re too blind to see that. And the one’s that I have been faced with – claiming to be so “smart” yet they don’t grasp the meaning of “modesty”, “compassion” or “respect”.

wow know your vocab.Voted for by cerokhol.
pseudo means sub like pseudo code is half cose and half english... so a psuedo intelectual is actually less smart than everyone else not smarter so there not extraodrinary there just not smart.

you said they weren't actually so clever...
so they just convince themselves they are superiour. i guess it's a way to feel good about yourself, which i'm sure we'd all like to feel.

Pseudo-Intellectual feedbackVoted for by Johan.
Please remember that my IQ can be 138, but I may still not be mature. I can think very deep of certain things, still my behaviour is not consistent with y intelligence. Should your behaviour be the same as your intelligence?

they scare mepseudo-intellectuals scare the shit out of me. they rape your soul. isecure, narcisstic, low-selfesteem, puts down people all the time, has friends who are really losers, condescending, don't have any humble opinions, self-absorbed, suicidal, lots of books, prententious, and yes they do lack character obviously. i cant stand them. what to do??Voted for by slush.

You place YOURSELF beneath themNo one can place you beneath them unless they physically force you. If you believe they do, that's *your* INFERIORITY complex at work.Voted for by Brew Kline.
Yet, we shouldn't be jealous of other's accomplishments. Not everybody can be an Einstein or a Bach.
Let pseudo-intellectuals be what they want to be. Anne Coulter comes to mind. She is definately a pseudo-intellectual, but she is fun to read. She has the courage to say what is on her mind-- even though it is wrong mostly. If it took a belief in her head that she is "looking down on others" to accomplish what she has, then that belief works for her. America is a free country. You can believe in anything you want.
Does your belief (*whatever* if may be) help you or hurt you?
