EVil!

well i just read something that rather bothered me and i noticed a trend as a reflected upon this. the thing i read was that a person basically assumed an atheist was there enemy because the person was a Christians why would someone assume this and should they? (oh yes and please don't make the assumption that i know nothing about your religion )

in my experience (yes I'm saying my though undoubtedly i will regret it) it is the christian that first initiates the conflict and they aren't really helpful and they forget their dogma and just bother the atheist? so i don't think they should and as to why it's because it's different and it almost contradicts their religion , but by doing this they undermines other principles of the religion so i guess it is just ignorance

  • Christians and conflict
Christians like to fight - but Athiests like to fight more. The difference is that rarely will an Athiest /start/ a confrontation, because many Athiests have a tolerance to devoutly religious folk - or at least, can't be bothered to listen to their dogmatic rantings.

Christians, on the other hand, like to show others their religon, and attempt to prove to the heathen Athiests that god exists and is active in our lives etc. The thing about this is that Athiests HATE to be preached at, and will immediatly retaliate with harsh words, harsher logic, and contempt. If a Christian has aggricated enough Athiests in their lifetime, they will instantly assume that all Athiests hate them simply because of their beliefs. However, if they never tried to convert said Athiests, they would get along as well as any other pair of people.

Most Athiests are well aware that you can never convert (Deconvert?) a devout religious person. You only have a hope with agnostics who are "on the fence", or who haven't been properly taught about what it means to be athiest and all that implies. Most religious folk haven't figured out that this goes both ways.
