What are your view points on gambling and the lottery. Is it wrong, or is it right? Please explain in details on both ways on why you think it's right or wrong.

Eh
As long as you don't use them in excess and ruin your relationships with family and friends, or ruin your finances--especially in the case where your family depends on it--I don't see what's wrong about it.

Lottery = Ignorance Tax
Perhaps there is some thrill in gambling "games", but the person should recognize that they are paying to play a game and NOT actually working to make money (the odds are against them).
In extreme cases, where the odds are absurdly disproportionate and the game involves little than scratching off a card, like the state lotteries, it seems obvious that the 'players' are truly ignorant of probabilities.

Why do it?
You can have fun without giving your money away for the slight chance you may gain.

Besides: if less people spent $2 a week on the lottery, then it wouldn't be worth as much, and then even less people would play, and it would continue until the government was significantly poorer and there were less upper-class citizens.*
* because everyone would save their "extra" $20 or $30 dollars, but not many people would have several million...
