I was on a chat forum and one topic was about weight loss. A person was looking for ideas on how to lost weight. A lot of people were telling her not to throw up or to stop eating. Then one girl said to fast for one day a week and only drink water. Is this the same as anorexia? Could this lead to anorexia?

Not good
Whether fasting leads to an eating disorder or not, it is unhealthful. It is not good to go without food, or else you risk malnutrition. You still need to have a regular intake of proteins, vitamins and such - just in smaller amounts.

Fasting. .
Fasting for one day a week will not cause malnutrition. there is a better chance of your health suffering by eating unhealthy foods every day. It's not how much you eat or drink(to an extent) but if you would like to fast you better be eating healthy the other 6 days of the week. I also don't think that fasting is a good way to diet at all. Fasting is just a good way to help clear your mind when you need to.Please register or login to comment! It's totally free
