Faith is the belief in something you can not prove exists

A Leap of Faith
There is a reason it is called faith. It is defined as believing in something you can not see. The bible tells us God's will and he wants us to accept it of our own free will. Free will is what sets humans apart. It is why we are so much different from angels who must accept God's will. God sent us proof of his existence with his only son; Jesus. Jesus later died for our sins then rose three days later. Now over 2000 years later many question whether or not this ever happened. I've noticed a large increase in the number of atheists. I may be a Christian with strong religious beliefs yet I do not condemn them for their disbelief. There is only so much that can be 100% proven. The rest is just a leap of faith.

For some..
For some life is easier when they believe there is some end, that if they live well they will go to heaven or at least that what is happening has a purpose and that God will help them through it. So they believe because it helps them go through the hard times of life.
Others find it easier to believe that they only have this life and they must live it to the fullest, that they are the ones in charge of their life and their conscience is the only thing they have to answer to as they lie dying.
People choose the belief that they are comfortable living with whether it is that there is a God or that there is not, since neither one can be completely proven at this stage of human development.

its strange
faith is only faith because it cannot be proven. Sometimes it feels good to have faith because it gives hope. Even though I am not a strong believer in God and Jesus, I believe in a higher power and in reincarnation as well as other things, and because I don't have proof of those things it makes me feel special in some strange way. lol

Prove that I exist.
Because:
Really, I can't even prove that you exist. I could theroretically be dreaming in some think tank from an alternate universe.
That said, I'm not religious. But there are some things you just have to let go on trying to prove or disprove - and just accept in yourself either way.

Very true
Yeah I agree with you I think faith should be something you personally use to construct your own beliefs, not something to force on others as some religious people unfortunately do, often quite aggressively. I think the whole 'if you don't believe in God you're going to hell' belief is a load of shite, it's good when there's people like you that may have strong beliefs but leave other people to decide whether they have those beliefs or not.mudgod

My bible says that a third (at least millions) of the angels don't accept God's will and are rebellious towards Him.
You are right. Faith is the evidence of things not yet seen. Once we have something we don't need faith for that thing because we already have it. Having faith that something will come about or happen is the evidence that it will. Like a promise yet to be fulfilled. If we believe that the promise will be fulfilled, we have faith that it will. But faith without works is a dead faith. If we say have faith but don't believe, we lie.

I mean, can't people just accept that a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, and an Atheist, all whole heartedly believe themselves correct - and to just let each other be with their choice?
And with the conversion to save each other argument... I usually respond with that "if heaven is a private party with invitations decided by clique rather than merit, I don't want to go anyway".
