Why do mirrors make people so uncomfortable?

When people enter a house with too many mirrors, someone cares enought to make a statement about it; but when people enter a house with no mirrors, no one takes any notice. Why?
  • Well
I'm not used to seeing myself 1,000 times over. I only wish I was! It's noticeable and questionable as to why someone would have so many.

NO mirrors I wouldn't notice until I went to the bathroom, because I wouldn't walk in thinking "What do I look like?" Even after using the bathroom, my only comment would be "Weird, no mirror in the bathroom..." without noticing the rest of the house.

  • hmmm..good observation
i never thought of it, but you are right. people usually only want mirrors above the bathroom sink. I guess that's why circuses always have a "maze of mirrors" in the "fun house", which is usually meant to be a little scary.
