Power the most dangerous addiction of all

  • Could power be the real obstacle to peace
To start out lets say there is a support group for
those addicted to power. I mean real power and not
just ownership of a biggest lawnmower on the block.
Now if it would even be possible to get one of these
power hungry addicts to a support group, would any of
them even get pass their need to lead the group.

Strange...History channel has a program on now about
Hitler, wonder how he would do in a support group?

  • Society
If humans could live in peace without government or leadership we would have been doing it for thousands of years. Giving alot of power to one person has as many cons as it does pros, but it holds society together pretty peacefully in my opinion.

  • bondage to power
people who are addicted to alcohol or drugs might realize how bad these things are for them, and decide to get these influences out of their lives, people who are hooked on gambling might have that moment of clarity where they realize just how much money they are wasting, but people addicted to power are almost always beyond hope, as long as they have access to power.

Power is a terrible master. it numbs your conscience by telling you that you deserve to be where you are, because you are better than everyone else. it pushes away your friends, by convincing you that they only want to be with you because of your power, while at the same time, it forces you to hobnob with people in your social status, whom otherwise you cannot stand to be around. it makes you paranoid, superficial, greedy, self-indulgant, and self-righteous all at the same time, and it will never allow you to listen to any criticism. that's why it a nearly impossible addiction to break, short of being forced out of power.

  • The need and want of power
The ones who are usually corrupted by power are the ones that believe they have to get it or really want it, so they can have advantages over others. We could live in peace...if we understood the power that we have by just being ourselves. If you strip down the layers of a person, any person, you will realized that we all want the same thing. We want to be happy.
