If one dies as an infant

If one dies as an infant and does not have the mind capacity to understand the concept of God, or even understand the WORD ‘god’ is one punished by being sent to Hell or is one rewarded by being sent to Heaven?

  • Mainly for the Christians..

I suppose this is directed to the so-called Christians on this board, but if anyone has any other opinion it is completely welcome. I have my own opinion but I choose not to share it at this time.

  • Not held Responsible

If you die a infant you are not help accountable to what you could not do or understand. I know cause i have lost a little brother. They dont get a chance to understand the meaning of Sin or God.. But they go to heaven because a baby is innicent untill a certain age where it then has to take responsiblilty. Yes everyone is born with sin in them but we grow up and have a choice to conitue in sin or not. a baby how dies at birth or before the age of innicence is reached they dont get to make that choice so they are not held responsible.

  • Down, down, down

In pure theory, based on Catholic beliefs and whatnot, the baby would go to Hell, even if no chance was given to understand God. However maybe the parent's religious background has something to do with this. In addition, Calvin believed in predisposition, that God has already decided where the infant will go before the actual birth. In this case, God could very well want the baby to be in Heaven quickly, or fill up space in Hell.
