I've seen several books on it but they seem to treat difficult physics questions. Can anyone help me on this without talking difficult physics (I really don't know the first thing about physics...)
Thanks all !

Totally separate realitiesI think the basic idea is the possibility of our universe and reality being just one of many, a bit like different channels on a TV, they have absolutely no interaction or spacial relationship to one another - they just exist totally independent of one another.Voted for by aerozeppelin.
They're not x number of miles away from each other, just not in the same dimensions at all, if that makes any sense. That's just how I picture it anyway, I don't have a clue about the scientific theories behind it either. -
physicsit conpensates for why things are how they are and not just a slight bit different. all possibilities happen they just happen in different realities. lets say i were to create different reality it does not take up the spacetime that we use. so this whole new universe will exist starting at my basement but completely seperated from our reality. simply said multiple realities must exist our else nothing would be able to sustain itself... all possibilities accure. for example in another reality orange juice is blue... and blue is the name given to the color white. all possibilities happen in another reality... which can only exist if multiple dimensions can exist... by multible i mean infinate.Voted for by pnktrky.

Christ Almighty. That's weird.Well. One of my philosophy lecturers is a strange science knowing, maths espousing, Catholic being dude and he uses the idea of multiple realities in a very interesting way.Voted for by Alexander Hine.
He writes (in 'Developmental Theism') that when a priest says blessings over the bread and wine that this may connect us to another dimension in which Catholics are actually gnawing Christ's flesh and drinking his blood.
Now, that's pretty strange (and, face it, kind of cool!) but it gives a good example of what TechNow talks about "Some suggest you would be living in all or most of these universes, some don't."
Forrest (my lecturer) suggests that Catholics engaging in the Eucharist exist in two distinct but connected dimesions/realities/universes.
Forrest also believes that each choice results in the creation of a new dimension.
So.......ahem
