Attitudes, can they change society?

Do we think attitudes affect society as a whole? and then on a smaller level such as "do unto others as you would have done to yourself" otherwise when one treats another badly so too will that affected person.
  • Very much so
    in my life at present i watch very little TV or film and am very particular about who I spend my time with. As a result I have viewed a world i used to be such a big part of from an outsiders point of view. Looking in on certain aspects I have noted how different things are when attitudes are changed.

    If this is so why are people reluctant to change?
