Religion and Death

Religion, Atheism, and Life After Death
  • My Thoughts
Religion and Death: Without religion, death is depressing, a mood that could spell the end of our species; but wait! There is hope- the hope we have of existing after death is to continue the species until someone figures out how to recreate everyone, intact...! Personally, I don't find that too depressing... our species has the spirit of discovery... (in spite of all of its petty tendencies!)

  • I'm not sure
There is a muse song called Thoughts of a dying Atheist and how one who does not believe in the afterlife must come to terms with his end of life. Personally the idea of death does not scare me greatly, yet as I am about to die I may be bricking it.

  • Death to me
Well death is not depressing if you do not believe in heaven. i would imagine it is like sleeping (the great sleep). personally i find it hard to believe in heaven. it sounds horribly boring.

  • Paradise: Excuse to not Live.
There is something to be said for an irreligious existence. If this world, this life, this reality, is all that we have, shouldn't we make the best of it rather than meandering about, waiting for the good part to begin?

Death can be compared to an end of a vacation. Yes, it has been great, stressful, annoying, enjoyable, but honestly, you saw all you really could have managed to see, did what you had time to do, and you are so tired. Maybe it's time to go home.
