Is war natural?11% Voted for by insanepyro6, malleus.
War is one way of keeping the popluation of humans down, along with disease. The thing is, that all changed with the development of nuclear arms. Now, if the more developed countries decide to have a war, there will be massive consequences for the entire population of the world, whereas before it just concerned the nations directly involved. so where do we go from here?

Voilence will always be here...11% Voted for by Moonlight Serenade, flamingsword.
War and killing are a part of humanity. Hundreds of years ago those kinds of things weren't as... frowned upon or shocking. The only reason we find such things horrendous now is because our society say they are. I'm not saying "yay! just go out and kill! People did it years ago, so why is it bad now?". I mean that they are a part of humanity; they have been there since we became humans, and they aren't going anywhere. Even if they are very wrong. Just because they are well hidden behind society’s polite mask doesn't mean they aren’t a part of us. Go ahead and deny it, inside us all there it at least a little killer... We don’t have to let it out, or embrace it. But just know, its there.

Natural as dieing11% Voted for by poisonsilver, -TheLoneWolf-.
War and killing are all natural, we have evolved so far that there is only a small about of things which would endanger our lives and population.
We used to have to worry about lions & etc but even then our most dangerous enemy was ourselves. Killing another person is in our nature- not to say we should all go killing each other- but it is almost an instinct for the survival of the race because we are so over populated….
I think that Wars now are really idiotic, there is no way to tell what is going to happen in the war, we could destroy the whole planet without thinking twice because we think- some how- that we would survive it. Just my thoughts Your poison

until we can learn to agree totally, or at least agree to disagree and tolerate each other, until we can stop competing and help each other. Until that, we're just not that civilized yet.

War is optionalVoted for by Happy 420.
When enough people choose to embrace and propagate the negative we have war. When people choose to create the positive we have peace. Both energies are in equal abundance it’s the choice of man to make war or peace. So ya it’s natural.

Simple answerVoted for by wandering poetess.
All war is, is extreme fighting. Caused by human primal instincts. As when we don't get our way or someone doesn't do what we say we try to destroy it. War is so simple that it does not take a genius to understand it. Another way to define war is: Groups of people fighting to a gruesome and bloody death, while causeing mass amounts of destruction and chaos, all because of some small little thing that will be forgotten with time and is completely pointless.
I hope my answers are to your satisfaction

If it weren't for all the political reasons behind war It wouldn't be so bad. If the politicians actually participated in the fighting things would be better. I think that war is completely natural. It is impossible for everyone in the world do get along. And it isn't very likely that everyone that disagrees is going to be willing to agree to disagree or compromise. That is human nature. We aren't all that marvelous and that is where war comes in. Im not saying war is the way to go but I believe war is part of life. We are stuck with it.

War is inevitable and a part of the natural cycle.Voted for by flamingsword.
it is an intricate part of the growth cycle of our species . both are inflexible, constantly desired, and often come into conflict. This conflict has come to be managed by rules that are based not on any form of understanding or reality, but on those beliefs that give us comfort from fear, “Especially if the original concepts were based on an understanding of reality”. any form of understanding of reality often comes into conflict with our desires, so much to the point that the rules become more important than the quest for improvement and eventually self survival. and because of closely held beliefs population controls will not be effectively practiced - there is going to be one big blow out. its inevitable. and if the species are going to continue to live by those rules that give us comfort instead of a true path and understanding of nature, the best of the species to rise up will be those set on a path of self destruction. and if we have hit an evolutionary dead end, nature will find what ever means to select us for extinction. I also am not beyond believing that living in peace “without war” is not possible, it’s just that I believe the probability of everything needed to accomplish it being allowed to come to fruition is highly improbable, and that any evolutionary change in the species that would allow world wide peace to occur can only come about after a conflict that would devastate the species to a point that would allow evolutionary growth.
I myself do not believe that God, nature, or the universe has any special affection or attention for us as a species in the way of dominance or endurance, and that annihilation through warfare is a very real possibility. -

War is NOT natural, nor is it inevitable. War is an unnatural 'creation'(and I use that term sparingly when referring to war) of people who were not willing to engage in actual communication and true dialogue with one another. Even far back into the beginnings of humanity when tribes of people who would now be called "primitive" and "barbaric" fought each other over resources necessary to life, communication could have been established and compromise (or even sharing) reached. Contrary to popular belief, lifeforms other than humans do not war with each other for supremacy in terms of food, water and space, instead they establish equilibrium with each other and the surrounding environment, with both killing and death being understood (insofar as any non-human lifeform can understand) as necessary and GOOD. Humans (for the most part) simply choose to NOT establish equilibrium with all other organisms and to use violence as a means of control. This control is used to obtain more and more resources for the relatively same number of people (weighted for population growth). These resources are usually used for increasing the amount of time people have for leisure and/or recreation, which, after a time, become "necessities", but only because the social order dictates so. War is a function of certain people's greed and lust for power. Human Beings can overcome these terrible injustices with discipline, training, and, whether you believe in God or not, prayer and sacrifice. We simply have to WORK HARD AT THEM to reach (and perhaps exceed) these goals.

Yes and NoVoted for by Dark-Scorpion.
Allright. First off, the No. We are NOT overpopulated on this planet people. The entire population of Earth could easily fit into the state of Florida! Have you ever been to montana, or kansas?!? If it's crowded where you are, MOVE!!! There is PLEANTY of room on this planet. PLEANTY. Now. The Yes. War is in the nature of man. It isn't a good thing, but it is the way humans work. Simple as that.

Ants and Humanity on Same Intellectual Level?
Ant colonies are natural, as are ant attacks on other living things...yek one would hope that humans are somewhat more intelligent than ants and able to comprehend that better courses than destructiveness are possible.July 3, 2007
