stuck on the bridge to the 21st centuryI am not altogether on anybody's side, because nobody is altogether on my side, if you understand me- treebeard/ J R R Tolkien’s Two TowersVoted for by bob2314.
Another four years have passed and I am faced with the same old choice of the lesser of two evils.
All the candidates seem to feel that civil unions are the way to go for gay people.
With the exception of Gov. Palin who won’t stop us from entering into a contract. Whatever the hell that means. I guess under her stewardship I’ll be able to lease a car or something.
Sen. Obama has promised to do nothing about DADT until the moon is in the seventh house and mercury aligns with mars or the joint chiefs think it’s time. (both will happen on the same day)
Sen. McCain believes the present policy of quiet witch hunts is just ducky.
EENDA looks to be dead. As does any change to DOMA.
I suppose I should take heart that neither of the candidates to this point have called me a sodomite.
Oh well there’s still time.

You know I feel for you and the cause of gay marriage. You must know that by now. But I sadly accept that none of the candidates endorse it, because there's no feasible way that enough people would be okay with it that it would destroy any viable chance to be President. It's more of a societal problem than exclusively a candidate-quality one. Change can only be pushed on the national scale in small doses, or they will never get put into office.
Hopefully within our lifetimes.
