i think the sky is green and the grass blue

Relativism. How do you define it?

  • Perception

What if your perception of the color green was another’s purple, or your blue was how another saw red? In other words, someone could be seeing the exact opposite of the colors you see. Meh, just a thought.

  • I think

I think the sky is green and the grass blue. Someone may say the opposite. Who’s right?

i think it is whatever color you say it is…. why do we all have to go on what other people say anyway???

  • Er..

Well, you are not right. The sky is blue and the grass is green. No one has said that it is the other way around without knowing they are wrong. If you are speaking of the fact that two individuals may see two different colors but both call them the same thing, then your question is worded improperly. There’s already a thread on this where I discussed my thoughts on the subject.. and I don’t wish to type all of that out again. I’ll link to it: http://allphilosophy.com/post/show/3209

  • um

i think the sky is more of a robins egg today, but tomorrow, it might be different. if you are able to say that it is a different shade of blue, and others might disagree, then who is to say that the sky isnt red?
