A Quote from Washington

Hey all. You remain utterly BORING on my time off, with basically only the newbies giving me anything to do when I sneak some time on here. Tsk, tsk. I only hope they stay!

But I give you this quote I came across recently to chew on. I found it very nice, especially who it came from (for Americans and American debates at least...)

"Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair." -George Washington

Thanks for the quote, Weydon! You are superb as always!!

I think this quote should always be referenced when people begrudgingly cry out "What would our forefathers say?!" when changes in laws are being proposed. Not all change is good, but all proposed changes should be weighed, measured, and debated on their own. Our forefathers hoped as much. They had much humility, and were afraid they would only do a half-ass job at something that was practically experimental. They wanted us to adapt and evolve. They wanted us to fill in the parts they didn't prepare for.
