big government, big business, organized religion, or the Majority?

All of the above
Recently I have heard a lot from the group that fears and hates "Big Brother." Naturally, I don't like government telling who can marry or what I can and cannot say but I acknowledge some reasonable limitations. What I find so strange is that these people have a tendency to support the enforcement of anti-homosexual law, the total deregulation of business, and a ruling majority; yet we know that religion, business, AND the majority have taken advantage of their power over other people. Why allow any entity total freedom from regulation? It irks me how people always fear/hate one of these and act as if the others are pure, noble, and just.

Well
Any one of them is dangerous, it all depends on who is in control of what and why. I think big business has the most potential to be dangerous as its overall goal can only be about self-interest, though not all corporations are purely selfish and evil.
Big government can be good for regulating out of control business practices, uniting larger efforts, and keeping order--but is obviously can be bad when taking away too many rights and becoming power hungry.
Religion is not inherently evil, and "big religion" is a meaningless word in itself because a religion's size is not very important if its message and ideals are not harmful. Over 90% of the people in the world are religious in some sense. I assume, however, that the "big religion" you are referring to is the one that takes power through both money and government and has at least a somewhat harmful ideology.
The majority is indeed a fearful thing, as you have to deal with ignorance and hate possibly outweighing knowledge and compassion. Sometimes it may be hard to distinguish "majority" from "mob rule". But the thing I fear more is getting rid of majority rule. It is obscenely slow to real change, and hindered by fear and ignorance, but the thing protecting us most from complete domination. I think most truly Democratic countries I am familiar with do a good job of taking into account people's wants through representation (as to avoid "mob rule"), and have a keen system of checks and balances. It is far from perfect, but it is the most perfect I can even imagine.

Y fear?
Why Fear at all?
hate , yes .... I hate big unethical business corporations.
Captalist big business enterprises harm the environment more than a publicly owned big business body.
