Stem cell research has long been a controversial topic in the world. There's multiple ways to harvest these valuable cells (which are basically blank slates that can be engineered to become muscle cells, liver cells, heart cells, etc.) and yet we're not really taking advantage of this. Are we going against God? Are we going against the natural order of things--or should we concentrate more on the lives that could be saved?

Yes to most.
My opinion is that yes, we should harvest these cells in every way EXCEPT in fertile eggs. The other ways are umbilical cords (which is virtually infinite and can be used after they've been cut), and the other way is adult stem cells, which do not require the destruction of the embryo. This is a scientific breakthrough that can be used to cure some serious issues. We could grow new organs, skin, muscles, and that is something that would save millions of lives.

There are more ways still
My friend above me is forgetting something.why not have fertilized eggs when 80% of a woman's fertilized eggs do not reach the womb and are lost during menstruation.the woman knows it happening because mensuration is especially heavy and painful.so why not use those eggs for medical purposes if it can be done.
hell i would sped my whole period every month in a hospital if i thought i was helping medical science.
but we do need to further this research, the donor list was a great idea and has saved millions of lives, but we can cut out that list and go straight from the illness to the saving.

Absolutely not.
Absolutely not. How is it unethical? For Christs sake, humanities instinct is one of bravery and exploration(not exactly the right words, but I can't seem to find the one I'm looking for). When did everyone become such wimps? Caring for an underdeveloped cell is ridiculous. So in that case we should not kill the influenza virus, because it's a living organism right?
Ridiculous. Stem cell research is pretty much the only hope I have for a cure to my Crohn's Disease. If it hadn't been hindered, maybe I would already be on my way to not being in severe pain every day for the rest of my life.
