A sigh is one of the most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard a human make but why do we sigh? Is it just a sound for a word that we can’t find?
Is it the answer to that one big question, “why”?

Whether you are relaxing, feeling relieved, expressing love, or stressed out, it seems to me that a sigh is just something hat happens when you release tension, physically or mentally.

A sign of depressionVoted for by Kevin.
My impression of a sigh is that it’s a sign of tiredness. There’s something to be said for relaxation and that being the (possibly only) answer to ‘why’.
But I think a sigh is more of a reflexive relaxatioin when faced with the frustration of how difficult and complicated things become.

sign of love to me...Voted for by ohsweetie2788.
i believe a sigh is a sign of satisfaction a sign of love or pure trust and contentmenet, when i sigh it is around those i love the most and i just think how lucky i am to know them and be in their company, i am content with life at that point and pray that time just stands still in that lovely moment...

Sign of deep thought?Voted for by forgottenangel1.
I know usually when I sigh it is when I am in deep thought and or relaxed. When I am depressed I think deeply on troubling subjects, when I am thinking about my feelings for others I sigh, and all sorts of other things. I think a sigh is a stress reliever that comes about after deep thought on a subject that matters to you.
