what do you get out of life? why are you here for? What do you believe life's purpose is?
-
We have two (or more)
Our biological purpose in life is to make babies and carry on the species.
That said, people are free to give themselves whatever purpose they desire (call it an anthropological purpose). A police officer may decide his purpose in life is to serve and protect, for example.
And what do I get out of life? I think beer and sex sums it up as good as any answer.

Finding out who we are in life and who we want to be. Sorry for my last thing. There was more to it than that that I didn't put in. It seems as when a human being finds out who they are, they die. We're all dying slowly as we live. So we must make the best of what we can. Make yourself who you want to be so that you can find out who you are

Yes.
It does make me wonder; some people who DO want to (and all animals by instinct) are put here to carry on the species. THat said, what's the original POINT of carrying on the species??

along the lines of 'we're really just here as animals, but intelligent ones, so we might as well do what makes us happy'
what do i get out of life? adrenalin rushes and freedom
i think the hardest part for us all is having the courage to let ourselves be so free as to do whatever it takes to make ourselves happy in every moment.
so long as it doesnt harm anyone else that is.

I agree, and for the most part I blame religion. Religions like Christianity teach people they're crap just because they're human beings!

What if..
-there is a Creator?wouldn't it do justice to serve Him?
-there is an afterlife?
wouldn't it wise to prepare for it?
-this life is a test?
wouldn't you want to pass?

"What if..

Why? I don't "serve" my parents, and they created me.
"What if..
-there is an afterlife?
wouldn't it wise to prepare for it?"
How could you possibly prepare for it without knowing what the afterlife would be like?
"What if...
-this life is a test?
wouldn't you want to pass?"
I've got one for you: What if the test is to see who could be honest with themselves and accept there's no evidence to justify believing in a god and/or afterlife, rather than follow the nonsense religion offers like a sheep? Maybe that's the real test, and God will reward the free thinkers for using their God-given mind to the fullest.
It really doesn't do any good to speculate

There's more to it
I know there's more than dying when you live. but it's true we're dying slowly. But there's also more than to dying slowly, biological and anthropological purpose. there's more to life than that. if there wasn't would we all be here?NoeL-

Your argument doesn't make sense. That's like saying "there's more to winning a race than coming first. If there wasn't, would anyone win?".
