Do we ever truely know ourselves?

throughout my life i have struggled with trying to find out who i am and why i do certain things, i was thinking perhaps its one of our goals in life to find out just who we are.

  • Learn the Why

I think that we may never truely know ourselves because the definition of life is change. I do agree that it's important to understand why we do what we do in order to possibly learn and mature and grow. And i believe that in doing that we can know ourselves, but never completely because everytime a mistake is made we feel like we made it because we don't understand. A person is everything up to present. Everything else including our beliefs and morals and way of life is just all part of the whole. If a lifetime was spent on trying to figure out who one is, then basically a lifetime was spent on being conceited, and not really trying to understand everything that makes up life, which everyone is apart of.

  • No, society influences us too much

no we dont ever really know who we are. society and the people around us infuence who we become too much. think about how much of a different person you would be if you grew up in a different environment, if your parents had different moral standards, if you grew up in a different time period. all these things affect the person that we are. our style, standards, way of viewing in general. i dont think anyone will ever truely be able to know who they are because there will always be something influencing you to be different.

  • There is no right answer

How do we know what are true self is. Are we really who we think we are. We could be wrong about ourselfs. And the whole thing about society influences us too much. We build society.
