I can see what you're trying to say, but when it comes to the quest for understanding the world science (at least once it became a separate discipline) hold the score at around a million to philosophy's zero point five :-)
Not that I don't love philosophy, but science is kind of like the son who takes his father's mildly successful tool shop and makes it a multi-billion dollar enterprise.

I am curious, what distinguishes science from non-science? My guess is that it is a lot less than what one might think.

I like logic, science, and philosophy. The world is to quick to take sides. Why not take a little of both when it comes to things like this.
