How were the future-seeing hats discovered/created?

A tribute to the awesomeness that is the future seeing hats
  • Paradoxically
    The discoverer of the hats was in fact wearing one before he ever discovered them. He then received a vision of the future, showing him where he would discover (or perhaps create - debate among historians is ongoing) the very hat he was wearing.
