Why do most people die before 100, and why is living to be over 100 is rare?

Maybe in the future, living to be over... maybe 300 would be at the most, but living to be 500 is rare. what would happen if that happened? Would you be already bored of life?

  • advancement of technology

i think as society advances the age for which we are expected to die will increase. in the future people will probably be more health concious and will make sure the environment is safe, were as we are just starting these ideas when they take hold it will help to make them live longer. so it all depends on the advancement of science and technology.

  • Biblical answer

It may have something to do with Genesis 6 when God says he will not contend with man for more than 120 years, so God limits human life to this. The Bible reports Methusalah as the oldest man 969 years old, before the great flood.

  • Just end already!!!

I would not want to live for a long time. I mean yes you would get to experience more things. But think about how worn out your body would be after that long. It is really rare for someone to live a long time because of the stress of everyday life on the body and how well the person took care of their body.

  • wears out

our body wears out, our cells stop reproducing, etc. so medicine may improve, health may improve, and we slowly advance our life expectancy, but unless technology brings everlasting reproducing cells, we'll wear out!
