Who Lives Whom?Voted for by ambigiousShadow.
People try not because there is some inexplicable force (ie, why that da**ned chicken crosses the road) but rather because *we live life or it lives us.*

It can't get any simplerVoted for by thefix.
As an individual, it is my responsibility to give my life meaning. I believe that I am here by chance happening... just one of hundreds of sperm that had a half a shot with an egg to become a person... I made it! I have one and only one mission to accomplish during the brief time I am on this beautiful Earth, it is to make it a better place for my having been here.

Because they're not surrounded in a negative aura of negativity while sitting under a negative raincloud rainging negative rain on them in a negative fashion while they eat a negative hamburger with negative fries and a negative medium soda with a negative straw in their negative little world. I think I've made my point.

evolution, why not principleVoted for by happysassycassie.
Evolution has created us as beings who live to survive. Then we became sentient and realized there was no point but still 'felt' the urge to keep living. They decided 'why not? we've made it this far, we might as well see how deep the rabbit hole goes.' Plus it feels good to be alive, to eat, to sleep, to have sex, to learn. Life is exciting and it's either that or nothingness...

While We're HereVoted for by leos-gurl143.
So you're here, on earth, no choice of being here or not (besides suicide), so why not make it worthwhile? There are so many opportunties to take advantage of, so why not have a little fun while you're stuck here

attention-seekersVoted for by normality.
One, because of human instict and two, we want to make a difference in the lives of others. Suicides are a dramatic calling for attention. If no one was here but one person, it really wouldn't make a difference if he or she shot herself for no person is around to here the bang. Yet, if there WAS only one person, they would live for human instict and life.

Think about itVoted for by seefoo.
Think about it like this. Lets say your hittin a ciggarette and your lovin it.Why even continue doing so when you know that its going to end? You can selfishly live your life or selflessly live it as well in these terms. Some people live life to the fullest doing stupid sh*t and crossing the limits. Others, live their life knowing they must support people they love and selflessly give their life in order to let someone else enjoy it. Either way, your gonna smoke that ciggarette.

Besides the point.Voted for by Phoenixfire7.
We do not know that we will someday terminate...we only know that others have terminated.
With that knowledge it seems likely that we will cease to exist at some point...but will we?

Might As WellVoted for by A Thought Persists.
Look at it this way: yeah, one day, we'll all die, nothing we can do about that. But we're here now, so might as well have a good time before we're all blown to smitherenes.
