So many people in the world see being gay or lesbian as wrong. They all say that the bible says it is wrong. What does it all mean...Is it terribly bad to be homosexual?

No...not really.11% Voted for by soul of a poet, stacy6, cosmosis, asphyxiated grace, Spade-Dragon.
I do not think that being homosexual is a bad thing. It is a state of mind. If you feel that you should only be with one type of person of the same sex, then you should be.

Right and wrong is a point of view, to me, being homosexual is just fine, if your heterosexual, fine, if your bisexual (pansexual ect) go for it. what I dont like is the consistant bashing of people because a book says its wrong. you know, the same book that said eating shellfish is wrong...

As the title says, you don't choose to fall in love. I am not christian, nowever, I believe that thier god would be both reasonable enough to realivze this fact and yet also compassionate on it. I believe that the creator, whomever they may be, would prefer love in general as compared to gender-based relationships.

"Not all Christians are alike. Many, if not most, Christians understand the true message of Jesus. But there is a frightening number of so-called Christians who can be best described as creepy, rigid, arrogant, cruel, know-it-all, pompous, obnoxious and treacherous — better known by the acronym C.R.A.C.K.P.O.T." I couldn't have put it better myself. Not just Christians though but all sorts. My friend is gay and can't tell his mother for fear that she would kick him out and his father would surely beat him. What future does he have to look forward to? This anti-homosexuality marriage stuff is one of the causes for homosexual suicides. I am a high schooler and I know one thing. When these current dominant generations are elderly and dependant on my generation in the future, homosexuality will be nothing but a meer trait. People of the future will look down upon this and find it no different than what we think of racism in the past. I'm a christian and if I have a child that turns out to be homosexual then fine. I will not promote it but I will not prevent it. As long as someone is happy why should we deprive someone of who they wish to be with be it man or woman, black or white. People are pointing simple things out such as Harry Potter and Spongebob Squarepants as gay idols, what's next, will teaching boys how to dance be banned next?

being gay or lesbian is your own right you should be able to be who you are without it being wrong or right. if most of the people in the world were gay wouold it be right or wrong that some people were straight? it is ridiculous to think of it as wrong or right it is neither it is their lives and they sjould not be judged so becuz they cannot help who they are just like anybody cannot help who they are.

How can you support words you don't truly understand?6% Voted for by HillaryKowalski, sjrlink100, cosmosis.
This topic is such a simplistic complexity. People made it complex, but in actuality, it’s very simple. The bible is a book written by prophets over 2,000 years ago that has been translated HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of times into over 2018 languages alone. Translations have mutated from rulers of societies to formulate certain desired and organized kingdoms. For example, rulers have completely changed parts of the bible for procreation (hence 2 people of the same gender can’t create an offspring). Religious rulers use to be the sole rulers of nations up to 221 years ago in 1776 when the 13 colonies broke free from Brittan and became the United States. Look who was in control people! Homosexuality (especially bisexuality) use to be the social norm of many societies and kingdoms all throughout BC and AD history. People just have a hard time excepting the FACTS that homosexuality is perfectly normal and acceptable to God because of the twisted and ignorant mutations put on the bible. After all, the bible states that God loves us all, and we are all equal with one another. How can you take documentation in such a literal sense word for word after it has been rewritten COUNTLESS times? In my opinion, I believe the bible should be best utilized for the loving stories and verses of the beauty of mother nature and life- not some warped lies about people who have a HEALTHY attraction to the same sex. I can’t wait until America opens up its shut eyes and marriage rights are spread to all LGBTs. Too bad closed minds don't come with closed mouths!

Homosexuality is something you can't help. It's who you are. Yes, I am Christian, but I still believe it's okay. I mean, you are who you are. You don't choose who you like, but you only discover it. Case closed.

I find it interesting that the only argument against it is that a 2000 year old book says its bad. Although, in their defense, there are no other reasons to say its wrong. Health(physically and mentally): same as straight. benefits to society: same as straight. Parenting: children aren't any different than straight people's children. So as far as I'm concerned, bang who you want.

Okay, first of all, I'm so glad to see that our generation and the generations to come are so much more accepting to homosexuality and so much more open to the idea that maybe YOU DON'T CHOOSE WHO YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH!!! Yeah, so the bible says something about marriage between a man and a woman, so what? I bet anyone a hundred bucks that if they ever see God, he'll say... "Yeah.... I uh... wasn't looking forward to that part of it all.... uh... hehe... my bad!" okay, and as for it being a sin, what makes it a sin except a blurb in the bible about it? Not everyone beleives the word of the bible! That SO does not make them sinners! It all simply comes down to this; do you remember the very day you woke up and said "Hmm... I think I'll be straight"? Or do you remember the day you woke up and said "I think I'll fall in love with so-and-so today"? Answer is; if you did, chances are, you're lying to yourself! I don't remember that day! You know why? because it never happened. And I'm prety darn straight AND I grew up mormon. Try arguing with that! Oh!!!!

Everybody has an opinion. Maybe you like the colour yellow and somebody else says "No, yellow stinks. Everybody knows that red is better than yellow." Homosexuality is an opinion, it's somebody's personal thing and iot chould not be considered a sin. In fact, the whole "sin" thing is ridiculous because it gives different poeple with different opinions and lifestyles the same rules, and it's not fair or sensible. Don't let other people stop you from doing something, because in their opinion it's wrong. There is no such thing as right and wrong. There are more than two sides.

Hate the Sin, love the SinnerVoted for by Mick Lane.
homosexuality is a disease that a person is born with. like a disease, the person must fight it. no one punishes a mentally unstable person for doing nothing. BUT, if the mentally unstable or handicapped person commits a crime, then they must be punished. to avoid punishment, they must control their tendencies. the same is for homosexuals. their tendencies are not wrong, it's the giving into them that is. hope this made sense.

Homosexuality is a sin. Everybody sins. It is not a worse sin than any other that straight people commit, but it is still not right. Many people say that gay people can't help it and that may be so. I have lustful fleeting urges as a heterosexual and those are sins just as homosexual urges are. I choose not to act upon these by having sex with some girl I meet in a bar or hiring a prostitute and I pray God help me with my urges and forgive me for my sin, but homosexuals all too often do not resist urges and they have sex when urges come and they do not ask God for help nor for forgiveness. Now perhaps not all homosexuals fall into that category, but I think the fast majority of those who are open about it would fall into the category I've placed here. Now just because you are homosexual doesn't mean you are beyond salvation, by no means, Christ died once for all, but if you do not accept him and believe that and stop living your homosexual life, it won't do you any good. To keep sinning would be to deny that you need Christ and forgiveness and that is perhaps beyond repair.
