what is nothing

I always figured to be a part of reality there would have to be building blocks involved (like atoms or whatnot) so whats nothing, how can it be black or white .. wouldnt there have to be something there to be effected by the color spectrum .. leave me your ideas

  • nothing is decieving

nothing does not exist everything is a thing and there cannot possibly be nothing cuz then there is space and space is a thing or there is a color and colors are things. i suppose nothing could refer to the absense of items taking up space but like i said space is something.

  • nothingness is something

Ironically, nothing is something in the world of physics. Without nothing the something can not exist. Therefore, there is always nothing and always something to create nothingness.

  • Heideger would say

Truth is everything and nothing. 'Something' is a truth that is known to someone. 'Nothing' is a truth that is not known to anyone. What seems to be nothing has the potential to become something when it becomes something to someone. Therefore nothing is simply truth unrealized.

nothing is kind of like a negative sign in math (though that is a bad analogy when you think about it). in reality, it is a concept only. 'nothing' can be used in different contexts to fit different meanings. in life there are always polar opposites, and all nothing is, is the opposite of something. the concept of nothing does not truly exist, at least not in this empirical realm we inhabit. whether there is another realm is up for debate and not something which we can prove with what we have on hand. what a load of something about nothing...
