If God is all loving, all powerful and all knowing, he would want to stop evil, be able to stop evil and know about all evil, why doesn't he.

Evil is no problem fo God, He mad it too. Isaiah 45:7 (King James Version): I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

A friend of mine offered this explanation, which seems to be supported by Scripture (oddly enough). He said, "A mother once told her children that they would have to clean their own room. She would no longer do it for them. The children failed to clean their room and thus disobeyed their mother." Now, we see two interesting things here. Number one is that the children went against the will of their mother by not doing what she wanted them to do. The second thing is the more interesting of the two. The children are still compliant with the ultimate will of the mother. The ultimate will is that they be responsible for their own room, which they still are even though they failed to abide by the subjective will of their mother. If this is true, than though God would want to stop evil, He would rather we have free will to choose and thus allow for the opportunity of evil.

Evil is something that man himself created. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, we created the evil in the world around us. God's punishment for us was to exile us from Eden and to let us fend for ourselves (to a certain extent). However, God knew that we would "want" evil and He let us make that decision. If God had not given us free will, there would be no evil, but we would all be robots.
