Bush is half the problem.33% Voted for by melon, shardsofapertur, ohsweetie2788.
Us "bleeding heart liberals" didn't forget 9/11, a lot of us have moved on. Bush let the royals (from saudi arabia) and the bin ladins out of the country after 9/11 and waited a month before going into afganistan. This war on terror (a second, much larger and longer Vietnam) is a joke. Innosnet lives are being lost beacuse this "great leader" needs to save us from... what did i read on a post... absoulty destruction. I'm sorry, 2000 lives is nothing to joke about, and 9/11 was a horrid tragidy, but it was not "absoult distruction." Osama is still gone, and we're in an unwinnable war. I'm not sure why he (they) got us into this war, but I will say it is not for the reasons they're telling us. If it is oil, what type of freedom is measured in barrels? If it's a Christian war, what God would want so many suffering and dead? If it's for money, what person could be so greedy? I'm sure i left some loose ends etc.Us "bleeding heart liberals" didn't forget 9/11, a lot of us have moved on. I Beg To Differ33% Voted for by silverfang420, ennoia, siriasm11.
I fought in Iraq, and I can tell you, Bush did more harm than good. No less than ten times as many civilians have been killed in Iraq alone than were killed in 9-11. The reason everyone seems to support him is because he indulges in a never-ending campaign of disinformation, using red herring stories such as minor victories to distract general attention from the fact that he is no more fit to rule a nation than I am to be a mother (because I'm a guy, y'know...).
Remember what Orson Wells said:
Who controls the past, controls the future. Who controls the present, controls the past.

Bush Supporter22% Voted for by jet black, The Blind Bandit.
although i do not always agree with EVERYTHING hes done i respect him because i think to myslef "what would i have done?" no matter what he decided to do (war or not) there would be people out there saying he made the wrong decision. it was either [thousands of innocent americans are dieing in iraq and its all bushs' fault] .. or it would be [how could he? ... they attacked our country and he didnt do anything about it!] if i was in office i would have went to war!! i wouldnt want people to think they can attack my country .. kill my people that have nothing to do with anything .. while i just sit behind my desk and twiddle my thumbs. the only other point i have is this isnt a "the war"... its "the war on terrorism". we didnt go in there to kill people, we went in looking to help (wanted or not) we went there to find leaders and get information. this separates us from the terrorists who are hearlessly killing.

what i've heardVoted for by Scarlet Shadows.
bush is using this war for far more then to bring world peace. Didn't his father have a problem with iraq? Iv'e even heard that it was because that that he sent the troops in. Bush isn't fit to lead our country because he delays with the issues: He decided to keep reading the story after hearing that the twin towers were attacked and for huricane katrenia he knew what happened and didn't help( did no one see that inside video?)

too early
I don't think there is really ever one reason for going to war. I think there are numerous factors and something may have more weight than others. But you forgot to mention a few things, like for instance the 30,000 people a year who died under the reign of Sadaam Husein in Iraq, who are now free from his tyranny. Yes perhaps they're not in the best situation now, but less of them are dying than 30,000 annually. And you also failed to mention protection. America perhaps can never be truly safe, but not reacting at all is just plain not an option. As far as waiting a month, it may take of bit of planning before just sending people into war. It's not necessarily a one day task to plan for. Did Bush do a good job? I'm not sure yet, if America never gets attacked again on it's own soil, I'd say he sure was. It's still too early to tell how successful he was.July 2, 2005

We will lose this war if we don't start all pulling for victory
This "War on Terror" is starting to seem like the effort to "Contain the Communists." If we don't become more united in the US, in the UK, even in the free world, we will lose this war. Such has happened in the past. Look at what happened to Russia and China during and after the Boshevik and Maoist revolutions. Look what happened to the indigenous peoples as the European immigrants declared and effected their will to colonize. This is not just a matter of putting some pretty bumper stickers on your vehicle, or waving the flag. We need to do more to ensure the new Iraqi government, the new Afghani government, democratic, pluralistic governments everywhere prevail, NOT the fundamentalists --neither Islamic nor Christian! Please register or login to comment!
