What would you do if someone started shooting at you?

I am wondering, what would any of you do if you have been shot at.

  • truthfully..

    i would thank my lucky stars that they missed. hey, do i have a gun? well if yes, and i am not paralized i would find cover and return fire. if not, i would run like a dog with its tail between its legs.

  • Survive to rationalize it later

    This made me think of a quote I've heard spoken often in martial arts;

    "It is better to avoid than to block, It is better to block than to strike, It is better to strike than to hurt, It is better to hurt than to maim, It is better to maim than to kill, It is better to kill than to be killed, All life is precious and none can be replaced" -kung-fu principle

    It's basically the end that is of importance. I would have to say that, were it a possibility, I would escape the situation, and if that were not possible, well, "It is better to kill than to be killed". I might have to live with what I've done, in killing a person, but the face is that I will survive to deal with it.

    This is all in the assumption that I am the only person around this gunman, the only potential victim. Otherwise things change drastically.

  • If I am not dead...

    If I am not dead by the time I realize who is shooting, I'd run but not in a striat line (so that it would be hard to shoot me)TOWARD the person who is shooting at me and attack. When you run away you are the victim, when you run toward danger, you are the attacker, and if you are sure enough in yourself, the previous attacker might stop being that sure about themselfes.

    hahaha, run and pray...what do you expect to happen, the clouds above open up and a ray of light as god's power will force the bullets into the ground?? haha, like that'll happen. if i was shot at, i would take the knife i always have in my pocket and kill the s.o.b. killer be killed right?

    I would take the bullet, if I live, I will laugh WITH the shooter. Then I try to speak in psychological and philosifical vistas. Enjoy the last few moments of my sullen deathbed. Maybe even sing KISS songs out loud.

    Will I pray, hell no. Will I suffer, no. Death happens only once a lifetime.

    well, what else can YOU do just hope you don't get hit and if you do hope you don't die from it. Sure you'll be in shock and great discomfort, but you can't break out in Matrix mode and avoid all the bullets.

    HAVING BEEN IN RATHER DIFFERENT SITUATIONS I TRUST I WOULD OF ALREADY SCANED THE AREA FOR THE POSSIBILITY. WHEN IT DID HAPPEN I WOULD DO MY BEST TO TAKE COVER AND ENSURE IF I WAS WITH ANYONE THAT THEY WHERE DOING SO AS WELL AND PLAN MY ESCAPE WHILE QUICKLY TRYING TO DETERMINE WHO WAS DOING THE SHOOTING WHICH WOULD AID IN MY DEFENCE. AS FAR AS ATTACKING THAT WOULD BE PART OF THE EQUATION OF DEFENCE ONLY AND ONLY IF I COULD DETERMINE WHO WAS SHOOTING. I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE SHOOTING AT COP THAT DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIRE HIS WEAPON OR A CHILD PLAYING, THINGS LIKE THAT WHICH WOULD GIVE ME MORE TROUBLE THEN THE SHOOTING. IF I GOT HIT YOU WOULD HEAR SWEARING AND AND MOST LIKELY THE SAME ACTIONS AS ABOVE IF POSSIBLE.
