I'm a christian.. and I believe in God, Jesus, etc etc. But I do NOT believe in Heaven nor Hell.. therefore, is it possible? I believe in the 'other side' but it's not heaven. To me, there is no heaven, OR hell. Both are lies, to me, but I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO believe that you meet God when you cross over to the other side.
So, can you believe in God and not believe in Heaven nor Hell?

You can believe whatever you want, but I think at somepoint you lose the title of Christian when you are denying heaven and hell. Crossing over to the other side as you put it has two possibilites. Either we are with God (heaven) or we are denied his presence (hell). So if you believe that we all go to the same place and meet God, you believe all go to heaven. So what is the point of being the "Christian" if that is the case. Then all are going to heaven no matter if they've even heard of Christ or not.

You can absolutely believe that there is a higher power that created the universe without necessarily ascribing to this being any traits or actions. The only reason you would have for believing in heaven or hell is the bible - but you don't need to believe that the bible is divine inspiration in order to believe that there is a god.

the bible was written by men, and is therefore an innacurate representation of god's word. we have to look within ourselves to know the truth, there is much of this in the bible but it is up to you to decide which parts are true and which simply creations of humans

Personally, I believe in Heaven and Hell, and I know exactly where I will go when I die, as many of us do. However, there is some things that I disagree with and just plain questions to ask the Big Man Upstairs. It is true that the Bible was written by men (save for a few books) but that also goes to say that when Divinely Inspired, then you can't make a single writing error, mostly because it isn't you (or Moses or John or whomever) actually writing. The hand of God is writing, with the physical form of the author's hand.
Also, when the opinion was made stating thus: "Well I don't believe in heaven, but i do believe in hell. When your become wise enough to realize some things, you become to know that none of us would be born in this vile world of pain and terror if we were ever ment to go to heaven (happy place)of any kind." I fail to see where perople draw the line at not believeing in heaven, but having hell as a destined ending for all of us. Does it not make sense for a world to be in balance? Even down to the atomic level, we have Protons (positive charge) and electrons (negative charge). For those of you out there willing to follow that and then apply it to Heaven and Hell, this makes perfect sense! (And for the chemistry geeks that want to comment about the neutron, we'll just call the ethereal equivalent either Purgatory or Earth. Your choice there.)
Another good example of this is in our own mindsets. For proof, look at our movies. All of them have basic plot traits, including climax, anticlimax, etc., but also all of them have the good guy and the bad guy, the good and evil. On top of that, 70% of America believes that Hollywood is right anyways.
Final note and I swear I'll go to sleep (I haven't slept for about 60 hours): For the one who started this thread, NO. It is not possible to believe in God, be a true-blue Christian, and not believe in Heaven and/or Hell. It specifically states multiple places in the Bible (a good place to do even cursory glances would be the Book of Revelation) that not only do Heaven and Hell exist, but also that they are literal! There is NO figurative language when there are descriptions, because at the time (and I'm willing to bet that even now) there was no way to create analogies that would make sense. There is nothing to compare the glory of Heaven or the absolute horror of Hell. Trying to analogize that would be worse than thinking you would be able to look at God's feet, from the front. One man was blessed enough jusst to see God's glory as it passed behind him, and Moses was forever to wear a veil so as not to freak out others that saw his face actually glowing and to protect himself in the presence of the Lord.
Seriously, if you have to hide your face from the world because you saw something less significant than the Lord's SHADOW, there would not be any doubt in your mind that what is spoken by the Lord is true and not needed to be taken with a grain of salt.

Believing In God Is Believing I Heaven And HellVoted for by Devsouane.
If we believe in God that means that we believe in the promesed day because in life there's guilties people and innocent people, killer and murdered and life and death and God will never let the innocent human murdered and it wasn't his/her fault so God will indeed make the fair in the promesed day

Ok, if your with God you'd think I'm in heavan, its a state of mind, if you knew what being with God was like but was always just out of reach you'd be in hell. if you wanna go that way, Yes the bible was writen by men, but it was God inspired meaning the God told them what to write, and most of it is hystory anyway, and knowing how they past hystory down and how they held it its not that inaccurate, but yes men do mess things up...and when I say mean I mean both male and female. The only way to know for sure if there is a heavan or hell is to go there (die).

You can believe in whatever you want. That is the point of belief. I am an Agnostic with a Jewish background. Incase you didn't know, Jewish people do not believe in Hell. (They obviously still believe in God). There is 0 wrong with that.

You can believe in God, and not believe in heaven, hell, or both. Yes the bible was written by men, and yes if you are a Christian then you believe that it was divinely inspired, however, it was also edited and published by men you may not think so inspired, and who had motives which something as powerful as the holy book of a widespread religion might serve well. Even if the bible was completely unaltered, every person's relationship with God is entirely unique, and every person will hold different beliefs regarding Him. Christianity is based on faith in the Holy Trinity, and not any one church's standards. Each human will try to grasp the afterlife in his or her own way, and it is between yourself and God, no one else and no other belief system than your own.
