Can one really go on without confession, even to ones self ?

Can people just not confess what's up? Whether it has to do with emotions or simply the obvious, they have to at least admit to themselves, or explain to themselves why something is or what something is.

    Someone would have to be really strongminded to not think about something and confess to themselves what's up. But what if someone were to ask someone something specific? They would have to think about what was being asked and would involuntarily confess the truth to themselves if not to the interrogator, wouldn't you say so?
