Can peace ever be won by fighting for it?

Is it just me or is the fight for peace an ironic and hypocritical cause?

  • I think peace will only come when people stop fighting for their own causes

I think that peace will never be achieved as long as everyone is fighting for a cause. Acceptance in peoples differences is the only way to achieve peace.

I think Darkimagination is right. 'Bringing peace by fighting makes no sense at all.' Compromise is one way to bring peace but not everyone wants to compromise.

  • It's the only way

The only things worth winning are the only things worth fighting for, but the people who hope the most for peace are those who do not believe that they can win the war.

  • Look at the people starting it all

I agree that peace cannot be won by fighting a war, but look at these people starting them in the first place, that's what it really all boils down to, think about it, does the government really want peace??

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

There is never going to be total acceptance, as long as there are two people on this planet, they will disagree on something. if we stoped fighting, for a cause or anything our lives would be meaningless, when you go to work your fighting something, no matter whare you go you are fighting in one way or another...lets ook at why people start wars, or fighting. 1.They want more power. 2.They want freedom, from a family member, or a country 3.They are attacked 4.they feel threatend so it boils down to 1.They want something 2.Protecting something

A man (meaning people) who doesn' fight or has no cause, is a man who has nothing, a man who has no one, and is either a coward, or dead. And you want to comprimise, you still have to fight, you want something they want something, you have to be willing to give what ever it is 100% and what happends if they decide they want more, do you hand over what ever they want......I'm sorry it wont work.

  • Peace Will Never be Traded With War

I believe that when somebody wants to get a good thing he/she'll trade it with a good thing, and when you kill a child somebody will kill your child at sometime "DO AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE DONE BY"

  • peace

i think that both of the two people above me are correct...but..it is human nature to dominate..to rule..and there is no such thing as peace...it is impossible to ask for everyone to accept everyone's differences...in human nature..we judge by appearance..by discrimination..therefore...we only fight for peace...because there are people out there that don't care about peace...and the people who do..the only way is to fight for their believe..so i think that peace can never be won....because only the idealist think peace is possible while the realist knows that we only fight to try to gain peace..but by fighting..we are forgetting the cause for peace....does that make any sense to you?????

  • its all human nature

sadly peace will nevr be acheived as long as there are people. agression is a key element of human nature.. so its inevitable that there will always be war and riots and people in coflict

  • Peace?
In this moment of time, all most take a second to think about the many things that have been happening.... You may have your opinions and they count for just as much as mine, but here's wut i think...

I think the human race can never obtain peace. Why? Because i don't think we even know what peace is. Is peace not having war? Or boiling with anger about others without war? To have every person to agree on one thing...impossible, even in the debate of life.

Besides, its crazy going to war to have peace. Did we really think it would solve anything? Peace...do see as two people with differnces but one having money and a gun to kill the other? They would never protest again, thats for sure...

I don't even understand why people go to war...does everyone really want to dominate everyone else? Is this really a free for all world when one person is denstent to be the only one who wins? Wouldn't it just be easier if no one won, and that we helped each other instead of fighting each other for no clear reason?

    You tell me....

  • I believe...
and all Christians believe they will win peace through war.
Armageddon defined: The final war. The war that ends all war. The peace giving battle. Armageedon is a new beginning, establishing a 1000 year span of peace and celebration on the whole Earth.

Ever see that movie called Armageddon, with Bruce Willis starring in it? Quote from the movie by the NASA head of ops, on Armageddon, "The Bible calls it the end of civilization..." That was not correct. The Bible never calls Armageddon something bad, or a cataclysmic event at all.

Revelation does not describe the end of Earth, but describes a new beginning for Earth.

The word RAPTURE is nowhere in the Bible.

"The one who is taken and other who is left", is within the 21 judgements chapters and applies to a judgement, not a rapture

It states in Revelation, that after 3 and a half years there will be no true church left on Earth. That is not magic, ladies and gentlemen. THat is social elimination and furthermore extinction of the Christian faith.
