TO me kabbalah has become a brand like adidas or nike. It has famous people fronting it and making money in the name of their god. These people are prepared to pay $30 for gods 'protection'. I didnt know god charged, i always thought that god was about faith, not a piece of red string.

The original Jewish system of Kabbalah is great, mainly because it wasnt a whored out version that we have today. The only payment for knowledge should be reading it or otherwise assimilating into oneself.
Kabbalah is a consumer faith now unfortunatelly.

Celebrities Misuse it
The Kabbalah itself is a sacred Jewish practise that should not be publicized the way that it is now. Traditionally, the Kabbalah was only taught to those above fourty and was intended to be a life-long object of study. Hollywood actors like Lindsay Lohan and Madonna are simply buying beginner books that are similar to "The Dummy's Guide to..." and doing what little they understand of the Kabbalah. In reality, Kabbalah is much much deeper than just a red string and was intended to bring the worshipper closer to God through the prolonged studies of the scripture (relationships between words, phrases, passages, etc).September 4, 2005

There is a possibility to commercialize any thing. But the commercial users will not stay, they will only, with time, fade away
