Life is not something you can sum up in a sentence. Life has a pool of characteristics. In order for something to have life does not mean that they have to have all of the characteristics, merely a certain number of them.
If I was to describe life as anything that gives a stimulus I am giving one possible characteristic of life, but not the single defining characteristic.

I haven’t yet found the meaning of life. When I do I will let you know! lol I guess this all links in to how/why we are here in the first place. How we were created. There are many different opinions on how the world was created. Unless we have an answer to that I feel that we won’t ever have an answer to life its self. I think that maybe life is different for everyone. We are individuals and so lead individual lives, we all want different things from life. We are all satisfied by different things. Therefore I would personally say that: ‘Life is for living; in every way possible’.

I think some people take life as a big a question mark, others as an answer. Those who take life as a question will want to resolve the mystery and find the meaning of life respectively. Those who take life as an answer will just live it thoroughly. Some may view life as both, which I believe is the ideal thing to do.

I see where your coming from. I always get told; well I always tell myself 'Life goes on'... Yes it does. No matter what tragic events occur in ones life, the world won't stop for us. Life moves on and we have no choice but to go along with it.March 1, 2006
