If you don't know what the fair tax is let me spell it out for you. All taxes would be gone, except a tax on retail items. That means the IRS will not be prying into your life, demanding receipts, and violating your rights in every way. That would free up about 500 billion dollars of the federal budget to go to education and social programs for all you liberals, and not to mention all the money businesses pay in compliance. Think about it for a minute, no income tax. No penalties for retiring early on your investments. No gas tax. No death tax. No taxes on business. Now before you flip let me explain that without all of the little taxes that are already embedded in the price of goods and services right now the price of the products and services would be less even with the tax included, because competition would take over and the prices would be forced to go down. Also the tax it's self would be embedded into the products you want to buy, so if the price says $1.99 on the shelf, the price is going to be $1.99 plus your states tax. No different than it is now. Now, I know what you are going to say what about foreign products the price will remain the same because they have their own tax system to add into the price. well think about this, The foreign companies will drop the prices on their products to keep up with the American products until eventually it will be more lucrative to bring that business to America. That will in turn create jobs, promote foreign investment, and boost the American economy. If that happens there will be plenty of jobs and create a situation much like Hong Kongs, where People don't look for jobs, jobs look for people. You would literally have to be hiding in a closet not to have a job. Then we would truly see who the lazy people are. Also, Competition for employees would drive pay rates up. Now you are probably going to say "well poor people rely on the tax returns at the end of the year." Well they have the answer for that too. Each person will receive a rebate check each month for the projected tax you would pay for the necessities of life. The more children you have the bigger the check. Why a rebate you say. well because if you didn't charge for items considered to be necessities it creates a huge question. What is a necessity? Food, clothes milk, etc. are necessities but some lobbyist out there would want more added. Is an Armani suit a necessity? Well, no of course not but it is clothing. Is caviar a necessity? Well no of course not, but it is food. Think about this, The poor and working class would not bare the brunt of taxes because Illegal aliens would have to pay taxes, drug dealers would have to pay taxes, green card holders would have to pay taxes, visiters would have to pay taxes. The tax system would actually be fair because everyone would be paying the same amount of tax per dollar. If you think about it rich people buy more expensive things. John Kerry said that it burdens the poor but that doesn't make any sense if you think about it because Johnny boy gets $600 hair cuts. Add that up. The average hair cut is $10 That's sixty people worth of tax on one haircut. The point I'm trying to make is that this is a great plan and the people of the US need to get educated as to what is going on in this country other than the war and the bickering about all of the little stupid petty shit while our rights are systematicaly being stripped from us. The world view of Americans is in a horrible state and we are paying 91% of all we make and spend in taxes, But this is a start, so call your congressmen, senators, and the president himself if you have to. Tell them that you want the fair tax or they will be fired. Send them the fair tax book, Write E-mails and be a general pain in the ass. Because if we don't pull together as a country and fight for what is right on every level whether we are liberal, conservative, or in the middle, this country will die and our rights will die with it.
