Stereotypes - How do they change?

Stereotypes define much of our society. Old white men at the top of the corporate ladder, or girls doing less well in math class in high school.

WHY are they this way? Are they based on (once) fact? How can we change them?

  • Why?

Why have stereotypes in the first place? Why can't we all just be our unique self?

  • Starts from a tendency, then stuck in a rut

People push towards 'normal'. So, there's some evil teacher who things girls are less smart - so that defines normal for that school. Then girls think that popular girls are bad at math, so they change themselves to be "normal".

The only way out is much harder then the way in. Exceptions much stand out publicly and be proud of their difference. It's and advertising campaign to the people - marketing change.

  • Teenage stereotypes
Okay, I just had a brain-wave about this particular stereotype!
You know how, in some way, everyone wants to be better than everyone else?
Well the teenage stereotype is really just another way for adults to say they are better than teens! No offense to adults, because teenagers do it to them too!
