This is a topic that seems to be becoming a bigger problem now for there are more rape reports being filed than there was a decade ago.
whether it is the rape of a woman or a man, what is the best way of being able to put it behind you and return your life to the way it used to be?

Not that hard? Who are you to say?!?! I don't think you should go around saying that. Have you ever been raped because if you have been you would know how ignorant that statement was. There is no positive version of rape or enforced amnesia of rape, there is acceptance but that doesn't necessarily mean that you get over it, it just means that you accept that you can't change it. You can put it behind you but you can't go back to the way you were, but you can become someone better, someone stronger. I'm sorry launcelot, you may mean well, but you are just way off base.

Merely making you think...
Its philosophy, its opinion and I vaule yours. What I was basing my argument off of is the fact that the "I" or "me" the "self" dosent actually exist. Its a myth, and no matter how painfull the precieved event may seem, its not you and can be overriden. Psychodramas work the best for something like this i think. If anything, at least I added at post to this guys debate lol.September 3, 2005

i agree, unless you've had to deal with it yourself, you wouldnt know, maybe people can get over it quickly, but i know the majority of us would find it quite a difficult thing to jus 'put behind us'September 20, 2005

I agree
I have never been raped myslef but the stories I hear tell me that you can't just forget it and you sure as hell can't "turn it positve" no matter how you look at it you have been violated, a part of you will always feel that. You can work on moving forward by surrounding yourself with freinds, family and kind caring people who understand but you will always have a fear lingering in the back of your mind. it will never go away but in time it may be possable to move forward and live your life in spite of it. if you try to just try to forget it, it will only haunt you. Launcelot, saying that it isn't that hard is like saying "oh to bad for you why are you making such a big deal out of it, just trick yourself into thinking it never happened to you, just forget it" I think perhaps you are a bit misguided in your opinion and tho I respect it just the same I still feel it is a bit cruel to speak that way about such a serious this.December 6, 2005
