Do you believe that natural disasters are God's way of kicking butt and taking names?

With the recent tragedy of the hurricane on U.S.A.'s coast and the not so distant tsunami tragedy...and all the other bad things that happen....God's will? His retribution? Proof that He has turned his back? Proof He doesn't exist? What is your take?

in my opinion, we could not be here if we did not have natural disasters. think about it, a volcanoes cinders are good soil for growing crops. an earthquake can extend a contentents area above the sea floor. mountains are a good barrier against enimies. hurricanes, and their pacific brothers water the land and get rid of the waste that imperviates new growth.

if you think about it, they are not disasters, but our life support.

If you believe in a God that "kicks butt" then why believe at all? You can get your butt kicked without God's help. I personally do not think God is in the "butt kicking" business.
