What is life about?

My opinion on what life is and should be about. Kinda long but it's worth it.

  • Project Rehab

Project Rehab People are becoming less like people and more like humans. The product of our society isn’t living but dieing. We take our lives for granted and spend time feeding the monster that destroys us. Take a look around, what do you see? People wasting away watching sitcom reruns that project a life that they wish they had. The path of our lives keeps going and going, but the only place that it leads is to the grave. A grave that we aren’t ready to fill. Eventually we are all going to the grave, what you can choose is how you get there. If you were to die right now, what do you wish you would have done? Then go do it! Between the ages of 1-18 you mean nothing to society. Do you know why? Because of the fact that you have no financial back round and no voting rights you hold no place in this world. Since when did the person you are become what you’re worth and what you own, as apposed to who you are? People spend so much time using makeup and expensive clothes to hide their flaws, that in the end… what you own ends up owning you! No one seems to see what life is really about. “Even Buddha & Christ had a different view of what the world should be, but nobody listens, even the Buddhist or the Christians.” If my house burns down and I loose all my earthly possessions, that doesn’t change me as a person. Fuck the media and who they want me to be. I am an individual and who I am as a person is decided by me and me alone. What I own and your opinion of me will not control my life. There is freedom in letting what does not matter truly slide. How did it get here, when did it come? Is it trying to escape or is it trying to enter? Did I create it or did it create me? Is it an it, or is it me? Is it for better or is it for worse? Is this a blessing or is it a curse? Is this a phase or is it evolution? Is this a cure or is it pollution? Are we our defeat, are we our demise? Can you read one’s future with in their eyes? When will it end, when did it start? Is it chaos or is it art? Is this your fault, or is it mine? Is our society expanding or is it dieing? Can we come back, or is it too late? Are we the ones to create our own fate? Give credit where credit is due… Why can’t they see it? It’s always been right in front of them. The answer to all your problems is you! You’ll blame the president for unnecessary wars, you’ll blame tobacco companies for cancer. Anything so that the finger doesn’t point at you! There is an old Buddhist belief called Samsara. It’s a cycle that we are all stuck in. There is birth, then suffering and then comes death. Ultimately it states that we create our own suffering, and ultimately kill our selves. If people didn’t want cancer they wouldn’t smoke, if they didn’t want a corrupted government they would fix it. But they won’t, because humans are weak, and are addicted to pain. You create your own suffering, and until people realize that fact, the world will never change. You need to realize that you are your own greatest enemy. Any time you’ve ever felt deeply hurt or angry it’s because you’ve allowed it to happen. Once you realize this, then all your fears and concerns will be gone. - It’s a compelling way of showing fear, a self destructive pattern that brought us here - A situation of life and death, it consumes and pollutes your every breath - You’re a sickening race with a paranoid face but what you didn’t see is that it was you in the first place - Your life is just one big stain, a deceptive force of torture and pain - You are the plague that is in me, a broken lock with out a key - You are the monster in the dark, an evil wave that left it’s mark - Your part of me and I’m part of you, you bit off more than you can chew - I’m your mistake and I’m always here, it’s all becoming painfully clear - You couldn’t wait and now it’s shown, in this life were all alone - I cannot say what you’ve made me feel, it’s like an open wound that will not heal - It’s a concept beyond your grasp, how long will you continue to hide behind a mask - You denied me a life of innocence and normality; this must be what they call reality… An army of one! What does it mean to be normal? Who is enforcing normality? When & how is a person classified as being abnormal? The definition of normal is; when it occurs in over 50% of the population. So one could argue that it is normal to lie, that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do, it just means that it’s normal. So in that case it’s a good thing to be abnormal. So many people hold onto the word “normal” like a fucking security blanket because they are so afraid of change. When someone looks a person walking down the street with their hair up in spikes, and a nose ring, they judge them. It’s a normal thing, but it doesn’t mean that it’s right. Society needs to let go of their judgmental ways. Don’t be scared to dress or think a different way. Be proud of it. It makes you one of the only humans willing to break the norm. And be who you are. In the end you will live a better life, people will respect you more, and you will end up being a better person. Be who you are, speak your mind and live life for you! You can’t heal me so don’t even try, I need time alone, I need time to cry. It’s me against the world; I’m an army of one, no time for rest, no time for fun. You try to say I’m the one with imperfections; my independence is my only protection. This is my life, these are my flaws, who are you to lay down the law? If you want to help me then give me space, the last thing I need is you in my face. I don’t want a leader, I want a friend, not someone who will sit their and just pretend. You think me wrong, and see you right, why is my life a constant fight? You make me sick, you make me dead, if only you could see inside my head. I almost felt like I didn’t belong, that’s when I saw that it was you all along. I have a flaw but don’t we all, who are you to make me fall? What is best for you? If I had to categorize the human race into one metaphor, it would have to be; “You don’t see the other people on the buss.” People are so worried about their future that they don’t worry about the present. Live in the now, put your future in the past and live, truly live your life. Don’t waste time doing what others want you to do. People now a’ days are so unthankful for what they are capable of doing that they waste their lives not using it. And when they die they will regret it. There is nothing in life worth regretting. Anything you want to get done is worth getting done. Ask yourself; “If I were to die right now, what do I wish, I would have done?” IF you spend your life doing things that you’ve never done, it would be a well spent life. People waste their time doing the same things over and over. We are becoming bi-products of a lifestyle obsession. Live your life for you and you alone! Well done, keep it up, congratulations on doing as you’re told. Sitting quietly in the corner watching people pass you bye, waiting alone for your time to die. To create or destroy, with your own two hands. You and you alone, a person of independence. Or so you think. Go on, buy things. Things you don’t need, things that bring you comfort and joy, because your told that’s what their for. Look back on your life, what have you accomplished? Nothing and your fine with that. So long as you can home to the same couch every day and slowly let the meaning of life slip through you. Dreaming… Quite often people won’t pursue their dreams because they feel that they will fail, or worse yet succeed. Even if you know your going to fail you have to try. Because if you haven’t tried then you haven’t lived. You only live once, so live well and be happy. Live every second like it’s your last. Eat every meal as if you’re starving. When others ask why simply reply why not? When you have a dream, forget your head and listen to your heart. In the end you will always know what to do. All you have to do then is take action. Do what you think is right, follow your dreams and you will be remembered. Not as superior or as a failure but as a believer. And that is inspiration to all. -I can suffer sickness, and then find health; I could be a poor man and still have wealth. Forgotten People need to realize the simple pleasures of life. The small things are being forgotten. We need to be reminded not of what we have, but of what we can lose. The beauty of life is that you may die at any moment. Every meal, every breath may be your last. You can’t live your life taking everything for granted. Your present every day person lives life so apathetically that they might as well not even be alive. Living a life that accomplishes nothing isn’t living at all. Too many people have lived their life doing nothing. And when the end comes near, they utter such things like “If only I had another chance”. But the thing is you only get one chance. No redo’s no take back’s there is only a now. You only get one shot at being the best person you’re capable of. So live your dreams, and don’t let your capabilities become squalid. Gone… Some people say that you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. This is true in many way’s such as people, possessions etc. But there isn’t a damn thing you can do about that. If something you had is now lost and gone forever no matter of thinking on how much you took it for granted will change your situation. We are an adapting race, take advantage of that. If you wake up one morning to discover that you can no longer touch your toes with out injuring your back, don’t dwell on it, take up other adventures that you may have never considered before. Maybe in your earlier years you were that kid that was always outside playing sports and enjoying the outdoors. Just because you’re not as flexible as you were before doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing. When your young your body is capable of so many things, and you spend your day accomplishing those things. When you’re older you may notice that your doing a lot more thinking due to the fact that you have more life experience than you did before, do the same with your mind as you did with your body, explore your life until you’ve mapped it all out. Don’t worry so much about the things that you no longer have or can accomplish, just move on and do new things that you’ve never done before.

    Inspired…
What does it mean to get inspired? Is inspiration the moment when you get a great idea? Or is it that guilt that you get when somebody accomplishes something that reflects on your laziness? Is inspiration a envy to be as talented as an individual? What isn’t important is what inspiration is, so much as where you find it. Inspiration is to be found everywhere on this planet. Look at anything, a person, an object a situation anything. I would be amazed if you could describe anything you see in less than 100 words. There is so much being said on this planet, the only thing you have to do is listen. It’s their, waiting to be discovered.
Where does life begin? When does your life stop becoming routine drudgery and start to have more meaning to it? What is the purpose of living? Because in the end, despite everything that you might accomplish you are going to die. You only get to live once, so why live it by other people’s standards? Why exercise? Why drive? Why go to school? Why get a job? Why read this? These are all good questions. While living your life, you should question as many things as possible. It’s the only way you will truly know who you are and what you want out of this life time. In your life you should try to experience everything, the good and the bad. Be happy, be sad, be selfish, be angry. Do everything, be everything, think of things from every angle. Because the when it’s your time to die, the last thing you will want is to live once more, one last emotion, and it will be too late. Don’t die with any regrets. Live you’re life so that in the end you feel complete.

  • Life is what you make it

Life is what you make it. the choices you make affect what will happen in the future. Life is like walking down an unfamiliar road. Life can be lonely only if you make it.

  • I Agree With You 100%, But...

Grim, you are right. Today, all I see are machines, no humans. The problem is FEAR. It is primordial so it is very strong. People are afraid to let go. BUT, you have to understand something, and once you do, there will be compassion on what you see in the world, and less suffering on your part. Grim, you are privelaged. You can see what 98% of people cannot. You are a member of the illuminati (though you have no external power). I tell you this: every single individual has created a system within themselves to protect the most important aspect of their being: Being. People are trying to protect a jewel of untold beauty and pricelessness. They carry withing themselves. People are just vessels for God. Everything you see around you is an attempt to protect God who is deep, deep inside of us. People do not know this consciously. I know it. I tell you so that, now, you know it. God only exists if YOU exist. This is the reason for people's fears. Imagine if you were carrying a billion dollars in an attache case. Nobody would know what you are carrying, but wouldn't you be scared half to death carrying it with you on the subway or on the street? You would probably put on a different persona or ask others to by hiring security guards with visible weapons to deter others from taking that away. This is what has happened to humanity. This is why monks have gone to the mountains: to protect God for future generations. However, the America IS SAFE today (very, very close call with Bush in power who almost DESTROYED freedoms). Europe is SAFE. The TRUTH has come down the mountains to teach the confused masses of the Truth. Christianity does not have the Truth, it has half-truths with the other half being means to dominate a mass of people so that a few, like the pope and bishops, have power. External power is REAL. The nuclear bomb is REAL. But so is Internal power. Today the world is a reflection of External power dominating people. People are afraid. That Internal beauty is making a resurgence. Only Buddha has the right answers. Christ had the right answers, but his message was marred, edited and abused by the institution of religion. The only True religion is the religion that EMPOWERS THE INDIVIDUAL, NOT A SELECT FEW. Only Buddhism teaches that. Grim, I'm sorry you have to face this world in its condition. You are ahead of your times. The only thing that can be of comfort is knowing what I have told you which is that people simply DO NOT KNOW THAT THEY ARE GOD. God has NO external power. God's ONLY Power is BEAUTY. HE gave away his power to the external universe. Man can either use that external power to destroy itself or use it to build Heaven on Earth.
