Discrimination is Wrong

Any type of discrimination is wrong. While religions are in a way able to discriminate, the United States government is not allowed to. It even states in the Constitution that 'Every man is created equal.' I believe that not only are all homosexuals guranteed the right to do what any heterosexual man or woman is able to, but also anyone not of the majority of the specific area of a location.

Either the government should give the right to everyone, no exceptions, or the right shouldn't exist.

are you talking about the right for gay people to get married? because if you are i'm gonna have to disagree. i'm all for gay marriages, but i understand why it isn't legal. Marriage is a religious ceremony, and there are few religions that believe that homosexuality is a good thing, most religions are against it. The person marrying the two gay people, performing the religious ceremony, will most likely not want to perform it.

Marriage is a huge thing in many religions, but it's not necesarily religous as there's many legal differences as well. I'm sure everyone has heard of that example of a homosexual not being able to sign their partner for an operation, ect. There's also differences in taxes and just how you feel on how you live. If I'm against homosexual marriage I'm against marriage itself, but if two people think they love each other marriage seems to intesify that bond they see. Homosexuals are no less deserving of that legal or moral benifit than anyone else. Futhermore, people can be married at court, can they not? If someone lived in a community where no religious leader would marry them (simply unlikely) then, if it were legal, the courts could not refuse. Marriage is much more than "a religous ceremony" and perhaps it does not have to be one at all. Simply I cannot see why, if heterosexuals are allowed to get married, homosexuals aren't allowed to get married.

Just because it is a religious ceremony doesn't mean that people who aren't religious don't get married...when you are in love you marry because you want to be with that person for the rest of your life. Choices and decisions should be made by the person it is affecting, not anyone else, especially the government that sadly tends to leave out laws that provide relief to those living on their toes peacefully to the left side.
