My opinion totally changed as i wanted to see what really happens in a abortion. It was pretty sick what i saw. There was a gallery literally showing dead babies, covered with blood in bins and just flung on tables, some even had body parts detatched.
After seeing these images i believe there should be a cut off stage where women cannot have abortions unless in extreme situations like rape. To me these were babies. As if they had been born, and to think they had actually been killed.
The stage of when abort should only be allowed in the very early stages of development as im afraid that now i kind of see it as murder.
Its weird how my viewpoint can change in a matter of minutes because of an abortion gallery

Abortion...Wrong, wrong, wrong.13% Voted for by RimedEmbrace, faithfullydedicated, Makessenseright, ctr4life, Inan.
I am so sick and tired of hearing about a woman's "choice" in the matter of abortion. The woman should not HAVE a choice! She had a choice to begin with! If she didn't want to get herself pregnant, she shouldn't have had sex! And if she did have sex, she should've used RELIABLE protection! In these two instances, it is completely and entirely the woman's fault that she is in the predicament she is in. There is a little thing called "abstinence" that all women should learn to practice if they want to avoid having a baby at the wrong time. The woman is responsible for getting herself pregnant, and therefore should be responsible enough to have the baby. If the baby is still unwanted at end-of-term, adoption is the best and most frequently used option. The baby can at least grow up in a home where he/she is loved and well-cared for, instead of being killed painfully. (and yes, abortions are painful to the baby. Look up the facts.)
I understand that women who are victims of rape, incest, or molestation often do not want reminders of the event. A baby, of course, would be a gigantic reminder. But keep this in mind: It's NOT the BABY'S fault. The baby should not be murdered because of the actions of their father. Adoption, in this case, is also a reasonable alternative.
Being as I am pro-life, I would under NO circumstances kill my baby, unless the pregnancy would result in both my death and the death of the baby. This, however, is an inarguable and unreasonable subject. I would be the only one, (probably) to be "dumb" enough to risk my life to give birth to my baby. If a woman is in the position in which it is 100% positive that she or the baby will die, abortion is, unfortunately, the only answer. It would be unreasonable to lose both the life of the mother and baby when one of the lives can be saved. This, puts Abortion wrong ALMOST all the way around...

OK I am saying this as a child whose mother had a choice... its WRONG on all accounts... my mom had me when she was 15, everyone was pushing her to get an abortion and I am so glad she didn't.... seriously though think about the traumatic effects this could potentially have on the mother.... she KILLED her kid... and when she actually decides she wants to have kids she'll have to live with that memory... I think its murder, and also a problem that can be stopped EASILY by ADOPTION! adoption is such a better option, no one's hurt, except maybe emotionally, but abortion is emotional too so thats really not a good arguement!

'This' my dear is your opinion only. Your opinion is not fact. And in MY opinion abortion should be allowed under specific and reasonable circumstances. I'm not exactly for it, but rather I am pro-choice. Does this mean that abortion is right because I'm pro-choice? Nah I don't think so.
I'm glad it's legal here, in Canada. It's been saving women for a while now.
You seem really hot tempered btw. Makes you sound foolish, in my opinion.

if the girl wants to go and open her legs and end up pregnat she should accept that and ahve the baby. she could give it up for adoptaion if she didnt want it but abortion is like murder and should be against the law

Keep Abortion discussions in the Abortion Category.5% Voted for by Wisteria, DryIce808.
Placing debates about Abortion in the Murder category is disrespectful and insulting to any woman who has had an abortion, and even those who havent. I vote it be kept where it belongs. Not under the one-sided heading "murder".

I would like to take a poll here. How many people are pro-life yet pro-war or pro-death penalty? Just a simple response is all thats needed.
Question 1: Are you pro-life or pro-choice?
Question 2: Are you for or against war?
Question 3: Are you for or against the dealth penalty?

But of course...
But of course, there's no such thing as the psychological damage of giving birth to the child of rape and/or incest, right? Yeah, its' not the baby's fault, but that kid will also probably be born mentally retarded and with twelve toes. Abortion is not a moral issue: before abortion was legalized, 9 million illegal abortions were performed annually. They are clearly in the woman's interest, bigoted zealotry aside. A child is not a living thing until it is a)a living thing (a lump of cells in a uterus is NOT a human being in any way, any more than a cancerous tumor is), and b) not a living human being until it has actual brain activity, which is at 7 months. Not the baby's fault, not the woman's fault (in most cases), but of course, it is the woman's option, often saves the woman's life (do you even know the pitfalls of the adoption process?? nevermind the life-threatening cases), and of course, it isn't even a baby for 7/9ths of the pregnancy.September 2, 2007

Life, is the definition of a.) an organism that is functioning
A fetus is a functioning form of life, if you take it away from its habitat it will die
A dolphin is dependant upon its habitat the ocean you take it away from the water it will die therefore a fetus, baby, clump of cells whatever you call it is an organism, Life is what it is. There is no denying it. People that say anything other than that are just making excuses, and are guilty of evil thoughts and methods and beliefs. I feel sorry for you. Life is Love, Love is Life. Don't stop it, just feel it.

Too bad.
I'm pro choice. You cannot stop women from having abortions, legal or not in the UNITED STATES, there will always be abortions. And, in some countries, abortion is free and legal, and always will be. If abortion was illegal, and I got pregnant on no choice of my own, I would roll down the stairs a few million times. It is the woman's choice.Kazrith

The reply thingy won't work on other replies, so I'm replying to your reply on here (yep confusing, sorry my computer is shite). "I cannot comprehend how a woman can be ignorant enough to terminate the life of her own child..." Firstly, most women that'll go up to getting aborted do not see this child as "her own child." They see it as a burden and I don't blame them. I don't know about you but, yes, there are women who want a career in life, a beautiful body, several lovers at a time. Just freedom, simply. A baby changes all this, for most. And in my opinion, adoption is one of the worst things there is. Well usually kids aren't adopted anyway, they're passed on from family to family (here anyway). And there was a recent movie that was made (from here, again) which showed the atrocious and disgusting situations these kids are in. I mean hell, if my mom had had the choice to abort me or to send me in this hell I'd have wanted her to abort me. Though, true, there are exceptions where the kids grow up to be happy. It's usually not like that. They were born from a woman who did not desire them. That is a huge blow on one's moral which lasts the rest of their life. And you'll probably say that these women that think about themselves first are just "ignorant" and selfish. Well yes. Human nature dear. It's part of all of us. But I'd much rather see abortion being legalized everywhere than enduring to see all those women being subdued to their religions, to men, to others' opinions and giving birth to children they don't want and regretting it forever. Women not being allowed to do what they want with their bodies is just another form of slavery... . America isn't the tradionalist country it was back in the 1800s. There's evolution. Soon enough abortion will be legalized pretty much everywhere. That is, after the people become aware that women have a right to make decisions on what they do with their own bodies.November 14, 2005
...
well justine you know what I think on this subject. here is what I have to say though, in response to this statement: \But Id much rather see abortion being legalized everywhere than enduring to see all those women being subdued to their religions, to men, to others opinions and giving birth to children they dont want and regretting it forever\ first off, I don't believe being against abortion has anything to do with a man saying abortion is wrong- after all, people of both sexes hold differing views on abortion. secondly, other opinions have nothing to do with this. if it is an immoral act because it robs someone who has yet to be born of the chance to live its life, all the people in the world being for it won't change that. also, religion has nothing to do with it: there are tons of people who aren't religious at all who are against abortion. but what I really take issue with is this part of your statement: \giving birth to children they dont want and regretting it forever\ I believe that most of the women who have their children do not end up regretting it, whether they were ready for it or not. I was not ready for parenthood and there were times (and are times) I miss the freedom involved in being childless BUT I wouldn't have it any other way. and I am not the only one. however, there are so many women who have had abortions who do regret their decisions, and the saddest thing of all is they can never have that child back. what an empty feeling that must be. it is in our nature as women to nurture life, not destroy it. and abortion does just that: it destroys life. I believe the only thing which would justify this is the mother's life being in danger, the baby's life, or coercion of some sort where the woman is forced by the government. wanting to be child free just isn't a good enough excuse for ending a life. it's not fair because the woman has had a chance at being born but she won't afford that same opportunity to her baby.November 18, 2005

Axelle said that a baby is a burden and I can understand why a woman would want an abortion. So, its ok to abort a baby because you value your figure or having a career? Wow. A new low. ________________________ Abortion should not be legalized just because a few whack jobs said it was in the constitution, which it isn't, we all must just deal with it? Someone show me where that is in the constitution. A woman can do whatever she wants with her body Axelle says, but that baby's body isn't hers. That's indisputable. ________________________ Why does every guy on here say, "I'm a guy so I have no say?" Has every pro-choice woman beaten it into your mind that you are just a sperm donor? You helped create that child, that baby would not exist without you. so for a man to say he has no choice in the matter just baffles me. Men need to speak up. _________________________ Someone, or a few people, on here said that even if abortion wasn't legalized women would still have abortions. So what. Murder is illegal, except with abortion obviously, and people still murder so should we just legalize murder because everyone will murder anyway? That's appeasement, and appeasement shouldn't be tolerated (I think that's a pun). I firmly believe that if you give people an inch they will take a mile.November 18, 2005

"So, its ok to abort a baby because you value your figure or having a career? Wow. A new low." Yeah, this is my opinion. And you have yours. If I were to fall pregnant while I'm studying at university I would most definitely get aborted because yes, I do think that I should decide about my future and yes, I would rather "kill" a fetus than wasting a part of my life because I can't raise a child and study at the same time and no, I don't want to give birth and give the child for adoption or whatnot because I don't want the pain and the deformation that's involved and yes, I'm selfish. "Abortion should not be legalized just because a few whack jobs said it was in the constitution, which it isnt, ..." Did you read the part where I said I'm Canadian? I don't think so. But here it is legalized and I'm happy it is. Well, after all we are a country that leans less towards tradionalism than America. Oh and if you just called me a whack job, then I think that's disrespectful towards me. "but that babys body isnt hers." Ok, I agree. But HER body is HER OWN. And that is unquestionably indisputable. If she wants to let that baby go through her vagina well that's her choice. If she doesn't want to give birth, that is also her choice, and then she'll go get an abortion. What she does with her own body is her own thing. And I don't see where the men sperm donors part fits into what I said. "So what. Murder is illegal, except with abortion obviously, and people still murder so should we just legalize murder because everyone will murder anyway?" Ok. In your mind, abortion is probably the same thing as murder. In mine, they're related, because yes, abortion constitutes the end of a life, but there is still a difference. Who would you kill? A full grown man, or a 3-week-old fetus? And don't say, "Well I'd never kill." If your life depended on it, what would you do? And don't try telling me you'd be all generous like a martyr and decide to end your life to save these two others. Be realistic. And anyway. I don't completely disagree with you. But I still strongly think that women should be allowed to get an abortion under reasonable circumstances.September 2, 2007

Oh and once again... Here in CANADA, most children who are put up for adoption are only passed from family to family. Most don't ever really settle. And if you'd watch that documentary about it you'd understand the hell they go through. Not everybody is a good and kind person. Most people take these children into their homes for the money. How cruel is that?October 23, 2005
A complex subject to be sure
Recently I've moved toward choosing a pro-life stance. However, I will observe that many of the anti-abortion legion do not provide adequate answers to the problems of unwanted children, victims or incest or rape, and health complications. As a teacher, social worker, and activist, I've seen far too many children growing up neglected, abused, becoming delinquent, even sociopaths. Many people don't adopt children here in the USA, they go to Europe, South America, or China. Apparently they don't want to adopt a "problem baby." Until the Christian right can convince me that they have healthy and compassionate alternatives to forcing children to grow up unwanted and neglected, I will not support an absolute ban on abortion.November 18, 2005

And lastly (wow you replied many times)... I don't even think it's a question of whether or not your child will be happy or not once they're born. I think that women should just have the choice. And if she wants to give birth to it and give it up for adoption, fine. If she wants to get an abortion, fine. If she wants to give birth to it and take care of it, that's very fine. I'm just pro-choice! I'm not pro-killing or whatever stance you imagine I'm leaning towards.November 19, 2005

First of all, you are a hypocrite. If you are pro-life, then abortion is wrong. Rape, incest, or the life/death of the mother are no exceptions. As everyone knows, hypocrites have no say in anything. Second, abortion is not wrong (religion is the only reason pro-life exists). This fact proves it: If the unborn child dies, the mother lives, but if the mother dies, the unvorn child will also die. The mother can live without the child, but the child cannot live without the mother. So quit talking about the unborn child being a person. Morality is only a blind hypocricy. I believe (bias) that pro-life is a treason act against the USA. This nation was founded on rights and choices, not dictatorship or communism. Also I want to comment about your "no sex" rant. True romance and passion is at times celebrated through spontaneous acts, sex is one of them. So put aside your religous extremities, Hypocrite, and see the truth. Abortion is neither right nor wrong. Morals are overrated. Live on and live again. CyaDecember 9, 2005

Hmmmm
Well see now that was a fun rant. First abstinence is not the only way to protect yourself from pregnancy. And second it's not just the woman's job. Third I don't see a clump of cells growing in my body as a child from conception. So I don't see it as murder. You can't say for sure when brain activity begins either. Scientists are unsure. Most, however speculate somewhere in the 2nd trimester or late 1st trimester.
I don't think it's murder. Explain why I should be pro-life? rationally please.

I am glad that people are starting to realize these things lately
It is very comforting to know that this topic is being seen for what it really is. A life is a life, whether it start on purpose or accidentally. Only one being, can start or stop it. God. Anyone that says any different, is really just in denial, and being defensive and guilty. But this is the truth.March 10
